Northwind, your mate Andy must be very tolerant of being roasting hot, fair play to him.

You can't wear a full suit for anything with climbing involved, it gets unpleasantly hot very quickly, even on a cool day.

I have a dainese 3/4 shuttle suit and its fine (for DH with uplift), friends have had various others including 661 and brand-x and were also happy with their choice.

No idea on 661 sizing though. Worth trying some on if you can.

Funny despite being untrue. A sidewinder is an air to air missile.

Wee guys building some jumps is to be expected. As is the FC flattening them. Could be worse, they could be hanging out on the streets terrorising old ladies etc.
Annoying if they are "improving" the original trails though.

A mate brings this round for some spannering every now and then.

I don't really get the excitement about these old bikes, maybe as i was't riding in that era.

How old is this one, cheers.

Brake like you mean it rather than dragging them and they shouldn't boil.

Cheap vs pricey bearings is a can of worms, even before you consider adding more grease.

You need to trim a little of the plastic coating off to get the collar over the hose.

I have a basic one, its nice and easy to use apart from the start stop button being slightly awkward with gloves on.

I thought snowboarding was expensive until I got into bikes.

A 160 is probably about right. You could go shorter if you prefer park style stuff and spinny tricks.

Have a look for last seasons boards. You won't get any good deals in Europe due to the exchange rate.

A proper diagnosis and probably some physio would be better. Take a long term view, you don't want to make it worse.

This ran absolutely fine for the last 10 miles round Kirroughtree.

And no one would ever buy your stuff cheap on the classifieds and try to resell on ebay for a quick buck would they.

Do what you like with it.

I got some salomon ones 3 years ago from tkmaxx, still going strong, unlike the rubbish sockguy normal wool socks which last about 6 rides.

Isn't the whole point that you can chuck filthy bikes in the back without faffing about?

which ones are standard and which ones are multi release?

SPDs come with standard release cleats.

Here are the evil multi release cleats.

    >slw.if not shimano. then what would be your choice.?

I prefer normal spd cleats to multi release, if you are going to be attached to the bike, you may as well be properly attached. Multi release came out in the air and when placing the back wheel and when hopping. Maybe it was just my wonky pedalling.

Never tried any other brands of clipless pedals.

I mostly use flats now. The issue with spds was not failing to release, more being able to clip back in in a hurry eg after sticking the inside foot down in a slippy flat corner.

Shimano multi release cleats are a poor choice, too easy to unclip when you dont want to.

Practice on soft ground, you will fall off.

Unless you are racing or doing long xc rides i don't really see a need for spd. Its a personal choice though, some folk love them.

Old hopes were better than the newer design, wish they had not changed.

I have 4 old hopes, all still fine

1 new hope, bearings goosed, crown race worn too.

1 CK, on its 3rd top cap and some marking of the steerer.

1 cheap FSA, needs cleaning out regularly.

Thor AC are reasonably thin but a little stiff.

661 Storms were garbage, liner turns inside out when you take them off, too tight even if you size up.

I'll usually try and get away with a normal glove and keep the winter ones in my bag just in case, they are not ideal for riding in.

I'm on PS3 so the ban hasn't affected me.

IIRC the bulk of the profit is in selling games, not surprised there has been a crack down on copiers. XBOX owners who have only dabbled in pinching software but have paid for the bulk of their games will be pretty angry I would expect.

I regretted getting a PS3 originally as the XBOX had better games, now I think I made the right decision. Wish they would hurry up with the new Gran Turismo, the lure of which is what made me buy the console originally. Toyed with the idea of getting a PSP now it has a new GT game.

Hardcore game copiers liked XBOX until a few weeks back.

You can get quite a lot in a berlingo, 5 bikes in here.

    [/url]

In my t5 i have taken the single rear seat out and strap the bike to the side of the double, 2 will fit there.

With all the seats in 6 blokes 6 bikes can be done.
