X-rays are good for looking at bones. Ultrasound of the knee is good for looking at some of the tendons and ligaments.

There’s a heavily reduced large Element c70 with XT at Paul’s cycles.

Pedals and chainrings are good, I would be sad if they went. Made in the UK, reasonably priced.

    I have one of these

    https://www.screwfix.com/p/forge-steel-hickory-axe-32oz-0-9kg-/102kh

It is pretty nice for the money. Not too big or small. It was sharper than i expected from the shop, and took a good edge with only a small amount of work.

Fiskars stuff is good, although I don’t have one of their axes.

IIRC some of the husqvarna stuff is made by hultafors so should be good too.

Must resist looking at vintage axes on ebay!

I stand in solidarity with the OP.

A big mug doesn’t taste the same, although two teabags helps.

Brewing a second cup never tastes as good as the first cup IMO.

The first cup gets finished and there’s a perfect second cup sitting there ready to be enjoyed.

The extra washing up is a downside I will admit.

Consider mounting them on to wooden bits so you can adjust heights easily if you get things wrong or change bikes.

I fancied a Spur or Izzo. While deliberating noticed a heavily discounted Rocky mountain element so got that instead.

Liking it very much so far, and there is room for TWO bottle cages!

An expectation of elective surgery within weeks of being seen is a bit unrealistic, unless this is private medicine.

4 dozen made earlier, all with proper lids.

Only 3 dozen left now. Burp! Where’s the Gaviscon?

Some shorts arrived, they are really nice. Good adjusters and belt loops too.

The jersey is too tight and will need to go back. Shame as it looks high quality, and three more tops are on the way in same size.

A pocket chainsaw is very useful and very cheap. They shouldn’t cost anywhere near £160. Mine was less than a tenner.

I had a laparoscopic bilateral inguinal herna mesh repair last year.

At three weeks I could manage a gentle MTB ride. By six weeks I could do pretty much whatever I wanted.

Just back from Ibiza. There was a slightly long queue for check in. No other issues.

Stripping a bolt while undoing it out of a fairly new frame would be quite unusual IMO. Are you absolutely sure this is what has happened?

Mountain Bikes are wider than they used to be. Bars and boost hubs etc. The extra space in a bike rack will be useful.

Great work. Thank you. I do this occasionally around the local woods and really should do more.

I like motorola phones as they have very little bloatware and the gestures for camera and torch are very handy.

Avoid golden owl, don’t call me Shirley and Danny’s double dozen!

There’s a huge amount of very nice forest roads/gravel.

A jersey with a big phone is going to flap about a lot.

I’m a huge fan of bibs with pockets.

However something like a dakine hot lap stealth, 1l or 2l is much cheaper and doesn’t need washed after every ride.

Trousers have been a revelation this year. Muddy trousers get taken off in the garage and stay there. Muddy shoes go on the boot dryer. Muddy jackets come off in the garage and stay there. Muddy bike has putoline on the chain so doesn’t need immediate attention. Fairly clean me goes in the house and gets less of a row from the wife.

Stopping cleaning filthy kit saves so much time, this really helps me stay motivated for night rides.

Buzzrack e scorpion 2? Just over budget, 2 bikes, folds, solid. Lots of space for long wheelbase bikes and very wide spacing between the bikes. Tilts too.

This challenge has come at such a good time for me.

Normally by the end of September I’m pretty bike fit, but start to lack motivation to ride mountain bikes three or four times a week as conditions get worse. I lose a load of bike fitness and make idle promises to do other types of exercise, and strengthen upper body and core. This NEVER happens.

I have dusted off my kettle bells and done the onnit academy beginner circuit twice most weeks. MTB maybe twice a week. Yoga with Adrienne or the pinkbike series from a while back. If I’m tired I just go for a walk after dinner.

A lingering cold made it harder but its better now. I’m starting to notice more strength already.

I reactivated zwift membership and need to do an ftp test. Maybe I’ll find my running shoes again, but the DOMS is always really bad initially and I’m worried about injuring myself.

Thanks to all of you for the motivation and good luck everyone for the rest of the year.

I went for a buzz rack e scorpion. Very wide spacing, no chance of bikes touching each other. I could put a longer bike than my XL trek slash on it. Fairly wide tyres work fine too. I haven’t tried larger than 2.8″

It’s a wet cold north facing hill with rubbish trails and no interest from FC in improvement. Shame, if things had turned out differently it could have been decent.

My current favourite is a twsbi diamond 580. The ink reservoir is huge, and the cap screws on so doesn’t come off in my pocket or become loose.

My main pivot bearings need pressed in. They go in easily but not so easily that I can push in or pull out by hand.

Bikes, shelving, a bench and a tiny MX-5 make a 5x5m garage feel pretty cramped imo. You can get stuff in and out and work on a bike but it was much easier before I put the car in it.

Jinhao pens are pretty good for less than a tenner, they usually come with a converter for bottled ink.

Cross Apogee was a real disappointment. Scratchy and frequent blockages despite trying different inks and nibs.

Pilot Capless pens have such a nice nib and are very practical. Good warranty support too.

TWSBI diamond 580 is my current favourite. The barrel is the ink reservoir do it writes for days without refilling, and has a nice nib. Also good warranty support.

Lamy pens always feel a bit stiff to me.

Cheap modern parker pens always fail for me, the lid does not stay on.

I have a kaweco sport. I like the idea of a compact pen. It writes well. The design depends on you posting the lid on to the body. I found the lid is always inky and it transfers to the body and then my hand. I don’t use it much any more.

Diamine ink comes in so many colours. However it seems a bit inconsistent and doesn’t always flow well. Most bottles are good, the odd one blocks my pens more than usual.
