Any thoughts on Italy?

Is a possibility, mogrim; however it’s just a bit too far away to combine both. I was in the French Pyrenees last summer and it rained. A lot. It rained so much that Lourdes was closed… Biblical shit right there!

Linking the French ones looks straightforward and the Austrian ones are two different day rides, I think.

Any suggestions for the Italian ones? I’ve spent a fair bit of time in the Dolomites/Sud Tirol but never with a view to road cycling so my geography of the area is a bit sketchy.

Never (yet) had a problem camping in either Italy or France – tempting fate?

Marmotte route looks like a cracker – big day though!

Izoard and Ventoux I have ridden before (though no reason not to do either again, even if the Mont is a bit isolated).

Got a Sony KDL32W653 which is probably one iteration behind your Sony option.

As an infrequent viewer, i think it’s brilliant. Size is about right for the room. Picture quality on HD channels is brilliant and the Smart features are pretty cool – can control it all from my phone. Youtube apps on both devices pair over wifi so you can make a playlist on the phone and play it over the TV with the sound through a soundbar or stereo. Netflix playback is also excellent.

Very pleased.

I’m using a pair of these:

Basically a road/gym version of the Mudclaws. I changed to them from a pair of massive Nike jobs which gave me terrible hip pain. They took a bit of adapting to (sore calves for a few runs) but now they feel great. Hip pain pretty much gone. Only drawback is the very soft soles, but I’ll take the occasional bruised foot over biomechanical problems any day.
