We took ours to France fully loaded with kids, all the gear and roof box.It would sit at 80 ok but would have been more comfortable with a 6th gear. The only problem is the fuel economy seemed to drop off quite a lot, we used to get an average of about high 30’s most of the time. On that trip, at speed, it dipped into high 20’s.

I’m in the same boat, have a look on car phone warehouse site. They are advertising the Experia compact on vodafone for £29 pm with no upfront cost. Daft how they won’t do it direct though ??

What is it that stops decent people from wandering down the road and pinching everything you can get your hands on?
For me it would be that the consequences of getting caught would mean that I think I would struggle to get a descent job, would not get a mortgage and I would feel ashamed of anyone I know finding out. I think there are too many people where none of these factors even cross there minds. There’s allways going to be bad eggs, we have to find a balance between a punishment that will have an effect and somehow instill some better values into people !

£400 is at the top end of the scale, the other cost to look out for is that the main bonding to the gas and water services is upgraded at the same time. This is often not done.

As a side note, fully certifying 5 houses a day PROPERLY should take about 3 hours per house ! Can’t say I fancy working 15 hour days for £130.

What you need is a full periodic inspection report. A properly qualified spark will be able to do this and charge in the region of £150 (depending on size of house) to do it. It will accurately tell you the condition of the wiring and the sparky can then assess what actually needs doing. No one can tell visually if it needs rewiring or not.

Something I’d like to see is a helmet producer to integrate the light and batteries into the helmet. Like Brants lights each side of the head they would have a tunable point where the lights converge and all the wiring etc. would be nicely out of the way.

Probably seem a little strange looking at first but helmets never used to have visors back in the day and now you look like a roadie without one !

Sorry to be contradict carbon but shaver sockets can often be run off lighting circuits. Whatever you do make sure you test it carefully, it’s always a good idea to isolate the downstairs lights as well as it could have been accidentally linked. If in doubt call a sparky !
