I have the Vantage V and I’m unhappy with the recovery data compared to the V800. At 6pm last night I was in the productive zone yet upon waking up at 9am this morning, I was 100 percent detrained. This has happened quite a few times now.

Oh and the OHR is crap for HIIT Turbo sessions, it’s just not responsive enough. I always wear the H10 for accurate results now.

I’d give my right nut for a brand new V800 again.

It’s merely a case of transplanting the Pikes onto a Patrol so I’m in the market for another set of forks. It’s not that they are not doing it for me, it’s just me keeping my options open.

I really wanted MRP Ramp control on the 150 Pikes but that’s not going to happen with a luftkappe installed so it started making me think of other brand “tunable” forks out there.

    @chiefgrooveguru

If this is for sale I’m interested depending on the angle for my Transition Scout.

Can you PM me some details please?

All this talk of offset bushings and slacksets sounds interesting.

Wonder how much leeway it gives you from 190×51 on a Scout?

Hmm, I’m 87-88kg suited and booted. What size spring are you using?

Agreed on the Monarch being rubbish on the Scout.

A guy we worked with phoned up once claiming that he wouldn’t be in due to his wife being mauled by their kitten (his exact words).

He phoned another time claiming that he wouldn’t be in as he was “as weak as a kitten”

He obviously had an affinity for miniaturised apex predators.

I regret the surgeon puncturing my right testicle with the crochet hook that they pull the tubes out with.

I regret screaming in pain on the operating table when the clown done it.

I regret my ballsack being that large it literally looked like a small turnip.

I regret the consultant telling me that my testicle may have to reside outside my scrotum for a while due to complications which required a further op.

I regret being off work for 9 weeks in what should have been a straightforward procedure.

I regret the dull aching pain that I still get occasionally 4 years post op.

Other that that it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

Wonder if this would fit a Large Scout?

OP, what is your frame size?

    Miele.

Ours lasted 15 year and ran 10 times a week. In fact I could have received it as it was only drum bearings.

Cheap machines are a false economy.

“I always keep it in the lodge……”

    Sensible obvious choice 😉

    You’d be amazed how many don’t though……

Bikes get stolen from Sherwood and Whinfell.  Fact.

Seen some pretty expensive bikes over the years chained up outside lodges. Utter madness.

Either keep it in the lodge or don’t bother would be my advice.

Came up fast behind a Staffy on a downhill run once. I was travelling at a serious rate of knots and I swear the dog was hauling ass as well. He/she turned round and looked at me mid sprint and pulled over to let me past.

Kudos to the dog. Met the owner of the dog a bit further down and congratulated him.

Still makes me smile that dog giving me a glance like, yeah no bother pal on you go.

We have a 2017 Patrol and a 2015 Scout. The Scout climbs better IMO. The Scout can go anywhere the Patrol goes, just need to pick your lines a bit more carefully on the nastier stuff.

PS: My Scout runs 150mm up front.

It’s not damaged tbh. Just good practice to change it while doing a full overhaul.

Assuming that they are Cree emmiters, they degrade over time with use. I may have read something a long time ago about the emmiters developing a black spot in the centre which degrades the output. This can’t be seen with the naked eye but through a filtered lens?

Or it could be the driver pcb for the emitters?

    Transition Scout FTW

Came from a Turner Flux which climbed like a mountain goat and to be honest the Scout isn’t that bad. Lovely bike, highly recommend it.

Irrespective of the shock, is the pivot shaft a tight fit within the slot when bolted up to the correct torque?

Help me to understand how it mounts on the Bossnut. Is it a single DU Bush on the shock with 2 aluminium pressfit spacers to make up the gap?

Yeah, should have mentioned that !

Wonder if other manufacturers also do this?

All the big manufacturers do full compliment bearings. Nothing new there. Enduro also advertise the ABEC3 rating like it’s some sort of miracle that they can make them to that tolerance.
Again, nothing special about that compared to premium brands.

I’m a maintenance engineer and we would never dream of using Enduro bearings on any of our equipment. They are a budget brand in the industry.

FAG, SKF, INA, RHP are much superior brands.

The problem is that Enduro makes some very specific bike bearings that the premium brands don’t.

An example of this would be a 3802 double angular contact bearing for a Transition frame. These simply don’t exist in SKF’s portfolio.

This is purely speculation here but I would imagine that Enduro puts forward the cheapest manufacturing costs to the Bike manufacturers when a specific non standard bearing is required.

I’m also speculating that the likes of SKF & FAG aren’t too concerned and choose to remain focused on supplying the engineering industry.

Oh that was STUNNING back in the day. Knights Lore & Sabrewulf too which were of the same ilk IIRC

Oh, forgot Yie Ar Kung Fu ( ZX / 64) ,Marble Madness, The Hobbit and Paperboy.

Anyone remember Adventure Parts 1-4 ? They were text based adventure games on the Spectrum.

    Happy happy times.

@Cougar, I stand corrected. IIRC Horace Goes Skiing was the free game that was bundled with the ZX Spectrum 48k.

Did anyone have a neogeo or Atari jaguar?

Neo Geo MVS was way too expensive for me back in the day. Always wanted a Supergun homebrew system which allowed you to play Neo Geo JAMMA boards on the cheap.
