I have an older26 anthem that has been “trailed up” longer fork, wider bars and dropper. Great for my do anything bike as I do more longer xc stuff to bigger gnar.
    Wish I had bought a trance though…..

I tend to go for ranking in the top 3rd or quarter, or something like that, the top lads do nothing else and isn’t a real measure of anything

Actually I jest, red kite as said are very good. Big climbing though, so depends what you expect from enduro. (All from good friends reviews, I haven’t done one of their enduros)

I would do it just for the cscs card. Give it a week, you have invested a fair bit in him so far, he will come round maybe. If not can you do the 4 days, seems a sound lad

Rode the frozen devil this weekend, and it was quite muddy in spots, I still had my summer/thetford bontrager xr2 tyres on. And to be perfectly honest I’m going to keep them on all year round for every trail. Sliding around was happening by everyone on every tyre choice. I personally believe people over think their tyre selection.

It may not be a real night shift I agree, but it’s a bloody good shift, used to do proper 7 till 7 night shifts, not a fan of those. But still preferred them to 12hr day shifts

I prefer nights, 5 days on days, and 4 on nights, although we don’t work weekends and night shift is 1630 till 0200. Plenty of time for riding during the day before work and Friday night off

Watched this the other week. Makes me want to give one a go, maybe the nice weather they had helps.

You put a deposit……. I’m not gonna continue as it’s not helpful, nor my opinion. Nothing wrong with putting a deposit down unseen if you are gonna take the car. If you aren’t then why put the deposit down.
And as said black cars show chips dead easy. Get their repairs done, and carry a black sharpie in the glove box if you buy. You will be amazed what they cover up

Altbergs for me. Off the shelf military type, the sneeker 2’s wore them for 2 years with work, now we have switched to brown boots, I use them for knocking about in collecting wood and wandering around forests watching enduros and such like. Brilliant for me and the free re soleing hasn’t been needed after 5 years

Open fire here, use coal and whatever wood I stubble across. Currently working through some sort of evergreen that came down in some high winds. Not a tree spotter so no idea what it is. But I do know that it was sawn and chopped on Sunday and was burnt last night no bother. Was very wet, left the split logs stacked in front of the fire for around 4 hours, chucked on an went a dream, keep the rotation going so no need to stack and store. I even chuck on unsplit. There isn’t a science to it really. Get the fire hot with coal and anything will burn on it

My Mrs went to summer solstice a few years ago and said it was horrible. Full of drugged up weirdos, was the phrase she used.

Brandon side is riding well at the minute. In fact everywhere is except the reds. There are a few closures on them as well for forestry work.

Last week on call and didn’t get called, week previous to that off and now 4 more weeks off. So 6 weeks for me. Its brilliant, normally like to save all my leave up and use in big chunks, 3 weeks minimum usually

I hated them to begin with, now I quite enjoy freewheeling making lots of noise as the person in front is pedalling, reassuringly smug

Which anthem? Wheel size and fork length? I have a 12 model with 100mm as standard, extended out to 120mm and that made it slacker. Maybe worth a go as a starting point

Tea came from a marshals house just found the corner. Was there watching in Ramsey square that day. And for drinking Yorkshire tea, as a full blown, proud as punch yellow belly as well, its difficult but it is the best tea.

If you have a problem with it, ask them you would rather they didn’t do it in the office. Grow a pair

My local is thetford, I have got a 12 anthem, with Reba’s extended to 120mm, running a dropper, 1×10, wide bars, short stem, in other words taken it from a xc bike into a short travel trail bike, in my opinion. Still very good round thetford, so I wouldn’t worry too much about thinking 120mm travel is too much.

Is everyone on this forum a pretentious bore? I would have one, and I would spank the crap out of it. Believe it or not, I would do this on public roads. This thread and several others that have brought about the term “pressing on” come on chaps. Sod the naysayers you want a quick car, you are going to rag the nuts off it, and on public roads, get one ordered and ignore the morons on here, that believe doing 31mph will kill all the baby seals.
