My g shock I bought in afghan from the American px for 38 dollars is still going strong after 6 years. And when I say six years I mean 6 years of pure abuse, daily coatings of hydraulic fluid, a 10 hour full submersion in f34 jet fuel (how my hands coped with that I don’t know, dermatitis in later life will probably answer that) many MTB crashes, a week submersed in the solent on an awful sailing trip, many hits with poor hammer aiming, and a trip across a hanger floor after a poor chisel attempt, came off my wrist but everything was intact on the strap and suchlike.

I cannot praise them enough, don’t look pretty but Christ they do the job incredibly well

Just buy a wheel from single speed components, very good for my commuter

After this happened, training when you got out to theatre was really stepped up on mines and being in that situation. Hard lessons were learnt that day, but they certainly were.

I have one set of pedals I switch between the roadie, the commuter and the bouncer, infuriating but I’m a tightwad

Our rent works out to 32% of my salary, add on other half’s salary and it works out a lot less, east Anglia.

Speedway is great. The IOM TT was one of the best weeks I have spent anywhere, Monza for the f1 is very good, love the BTCC, me and dad normally do a weekend somewhere each season, done knockhill and oulten park, but one of my favourites was either the tour of lincs rally that used to pass through the farms near my mothers, or some club tin tops at Mallory park.

Used to spend a lot of time as a youth skivving school at cadwell park watching all sorts including Honda testing, and track days.

I had a 97 v70 with the non turbo 2.5 petrol engine, with manual box in it. Paid only £200 for the big tank. Mpg was an issue, only getting mid twenties out of it, but now I struggle to get 20 in the jag.
It swallowed bikes no problems, and was incredibly comfortable, and actually handled really well if you were chucking it about. I loved it.

Quite drunk in Berlin, me and the other half decided it would be a great idea to go ice skating at the Christmas market. Cue me stacking it into a toddler, I pick up the screaming child, looking for an obvious escape route, as the father of the flattened child, through laughing fits explains all is good and not to worry.

How did we all get on? 7 56 for me, and my first enduro. Pretty happy with the results. My mate finished 3rd in the senior class, well chuffed for him

Coming into brize Norton on board a c17 a few years back 2 days before Christmas, and the weather was terrible, had one go at landing and we went round, the pilot comes on the tannoy saying we had terrible cross winds, he will give it ten minutes do a circuit and try again, if not he would divert to Birmingham, not what anyone wanted after being stuck in bastion terminal for 36 hours prior to the flight.
On approach the 2nd time, the pilot says the cross winds have got worse, but do your straps up tight and “sod it, I’m not going to bloody Birmingham”

One Thursday night at work, the last job before we knocked off for a long weekend, I was tasked with changing a power take off shaft on a tornado. Got the old shaft out and new one fitted, and the engine dry cranked in record time. Tools away, happy days, quickly get the paperwork done and that’s us done…
Upon looking at the paperwork, I turn to my supervisor pointing at the words right hand, on the paperwork, yep you guessed it we had changed the left hand one. Tools back out, new on off, old one refitted, then right hand one changed as it should be, 2 engines dry cranked and tools away.
This time we knocked half hour off the original time, but still, our early finish was right out the window

Sounds just like my old £220 Volvo v70, bought on 1 picture and 11 months mot left on it. When I went to collect guy was miffed, and said “that’s the risk with eBay”, got myself a right bargain there.

I broke mine twice a couple of years back. Not clean through and only one break each time, around 4 weeks both times. Never had physio or any follow up stuff, which I’m paying for now, stiff shoulder, can’t lift much weight on the left side. Need to get to a physio really

As taxi says its the norm within enduro events, personally I see nothing wrong unless the enduro rider buries himself into the side of my car and won’t pay up. But being a country bumpkin I have seen cars being bought for scrap identical to the one the owner has, but in better condition and the plates for the road worthy but buggered one being stuck on the good but for scrap vehicle. The only one to spot it was a 6 year old who said “dad why have we now got a sunroof”

4 weeks fully with not even the odd crafty one when the Mrs ain’t about, I’m a a serial vaper, and quitter. Vape for a while then have a crafty tab when she isn’t around/having a beer with the lads.
Using my own mixed 3mg juice, so barely nothing
