There’s tons of off roading around the Cambridge area!!!
Fair to say tho, anywhere north of the A14 is pants, it’s all as flat as far as the eye can see!! Come over & join us on Tuesdays, and last Sunday of the month for some rides and we’ll show you all the best trails!! Normally have a furious group on Wednesdays too but it’s suspended at the mo cos I’m time trialling! May move to another night tho! Give is a nudge if you’re up for it!! Details in profile! :-)

Yep – it’s called “The Burger Place”!
Been there a million times – great food! Owned by a lovely couple, Christophe (obviously French) and his English wife (can’t remember her name tho), been there for years & now rent out a luxry chalet with a pool!

The group I used to ride with are looking to start up again – give Paul a ring at Marshalls Cycles (WGC) 01707 393322 – tell him I sent you! He’ll let you know what the state of play is!
They all know the best trails to ride & are an ace group! I’ll even come down from Cambridge myself & ride with them! ;-)

Thats brilliant – thanks fellas – dont really want a full on ‘beer’ week, been there, done that & the boarding suffers – just a cool place to chill after skiing & then again later in the evening.

Anyone done the World Cup downhill run there? Gotta be a must i think while we are there!! Or the restaurant right at the top of the mountain (upwards of the Eiger)?

Not so much the snow conditions – i know thats been poor, but they have had 20cm snow in the last 48 hrs.

Generally it was just about the area – the hotel is not great, but we figured that was the last thing on our minds considering it is the place we will spend the least amount of time!!

Any info on the best parts to ski, & the apres ski would be great (5 guys on a ski/beer break)!!

Don’t think he “makes” anybody do anything! What he does do is unlock & open your own mind – he is essentially the key!

is this based on any experience of returning items?

Only from a couple of people i know – its just easier dealing with someone in the UK! (although it does happen here too)!

re Magicshine lights – yes, you can get them from China cheaper – but you dont get the 1 year warranty (unless you want to faff around sending them back to China which will cost, and theyll probably ignore it)!

if they’ve been on a while or been abused they can be a tad stiff!
Push the link up into an ‘n’ position, then using pliers
diagionally across the end plates on the solid pin side of
the link – press…… Job done.

There are min & max pressures stamped on the sidewall – usually for a reason, if youre a bit on the large side you generally just need more air!!! Simples!! :o

    Weighs 9.9Kg.

Folds in 10 SECONDS – YES 10 SECONDS!!!!

Todays bearings are a lot better sealed than they were years ago – but GT85 is a penetrating fluid so it will get in somehow!

It will thin the grease over time – but water is probably going to do more damage on its own.

Id spray them carefully – just enough to clear the water, then regually replace them. If you find a local bearing company, they are a qtr of the price of OE.

You can get a complete rebuild kit, bearings, pins, seals etc for the Wah Wahs for £15.

Any Kona dealer will be able to get them for you.

    Food for thought!!

+1 for Lqd Torque/Carbogrip, or FiberGrip – all excellent.

Ritchey TorqueKey Great – only up to 5Nm so no chance of overtightening. Retails @ £12.99.

Or try Park tools torque wrenches – smaller one (part No TM1) goes up to 7Nm retailing at £50, larger one (part no TM2) goes up to 70Nm retailing at £60, neither need recalibrating.

Get in with your LBS and they may get them at a better price for you.

    Still…..

Where does the law stand on this?

Is it legal or are the French likely to heve your balls in a sling ?

    Valid point…..

Except there is such a thing as Radonee…. Basically hiking up to the top then boarding down.

BUT…. and i'm not a lazy man, but hiking up 1500-2000m at night is hard work, soooo…. we booked a hotel at the top with its own uplift every half hour.

    Loverleeeeee….

Lord – who did you go with?

Trails in Cham valley are all natural – rocks roots & all. Morzine is more "man made".

If you know where to look there are amazing technical trails everywhere.
