your correct there are 2 separate plastic stoppers which are really badly designed – they don’t work if you plan on running a single ring with no front mech (which is what i did) i ended up making a backing plate for out of a thin piece of steel, the plate was kind of z shaped and sits into that little recess – if you’ve lost these stoppers – you could do the same as I did using bog standard cable stoppers and drill a small hole in a similar plate – the plate then acts as leverage against the frame.

Am also interested in this, specifically if anybody has had any issues with a canyon carbon frame which is not crash damage – such as cracked chainstays how is this dealt with?

All i can see regarding warranty is the frame replacement program which is pretty expensive on the carbon mtbs.

    Looks great.
Why wouldnt you want it like the megaavalanche up there ..sounds like that would be a good craic to me….Ive never understood this concept of people being over precious about protecting there “secret local trails” crap…. All you read about in the magazines are articles to tell riders to to get off the kitty litter trail centres and try some more natural ungroomed trails but if your not a local rider how are you supposed to find these trails without things like strava and these forums etc.
See u up there for the mini-avalanche! 😉

definately a 32kg limit for sports luggage – has happened to me and friends on 2 different airlines – been made to take 500g of items out of a sealed up bike bag whilst theres an angry mob of about 200 people behind you waiting to check in isnt fun, I queried this with the check in people and they said anything over 32kg can only be carried as freight – not sure if this is a universal rule?

ive just come home from 11 days solo in finale, I would say if you are unsure about it – just do it, and agree what d45yth says about regretting not going. I had a lot of leave to use with work and pretty much took last month off. I felt a bit unsure so kept my schedule pretty flexible in that I booked a one way flight end 7 nights in a hotel and made the decision to stay on a little longer while I was out there.

it turned out to be a good trip did a mix of solo exploring around the trails, few days guided and a couple of days with an uplift company, if I was going for a shorter time I probably would have done purely shuttle days you would be out on it 9 – 5pm by the time you do that get back to your accom clean up and have some food / go out for a few beers you want pretty early nights as the shuttles leave @ 9am.

The only small issue was lack of english spoken, I think apart from A british guy that runs one of the shuttle companys I was the only brit out there at the time! – finale seemed to cater towards italian / german tourisits – there were a few german groups who I tagged along with on the uplift/shuttles who were a good laugh. So if you speak german you would be even better off than me

shameless plug for a couple of vids i made out there …………….oh and happy to give you the contact details of my guides / shuttles accomodtion etc
