Just hot water is good! Try it, after a while you’ll like it, and it’s good for you.

Do it yourself…it’s not that hard.
Give it a go….at worst you wasted one tub.

Basically you unpick the stitching close to where the puncture is, repair the puncture and stitch it back up again.

Does it teach you about controlling your guitar with your volume and tone controls? Does it teach you about controlling your tone by where you pick on the string, with different picks or fingers? Does it teach you how to play with other musicians? Does it teach you about making choices?
    What does it teach you?

Matt – That Supersonic looks great. I’ve been lusting after one of those.

I bought a copy of Samlplitude, and I’ve been learning how to use it.

Here’s a couple of examples of what I have so far….
    A bluesy thing….

Through and off….riding in a group..
You tap through, nothing more nothing less.
Through and off should really be…
    Through, across, ease.
You tap through, you move across, and ease a little.

When you are in a fast moving break there is nothing quite like it. 5 -> 8 riding as one. You’ll never be caught.

Also take a look at max and min temps for each.

Some of them can’t take too much heat.

    I’ll let you know I’m there…I’ll ask you politely…

But it’s a race, and if piss about and hold me up, then I’ll do what I have to do to get by and you can report me if you like.

I’d expect you to do the same to me.

Wheels will work fine if without spacers if you have ‘self locking’ nuts. Otherwise you must have spacers as you’ll be loading the bearings….awh, who gives a shiz??? Get out there and ride :-)

Kinver!!! Yes!! I thought I recognised it!!!

I haven’t read all the comments above, but my 2p worth.

Really enjoyed it up to 2mins…then I was looking for something else.
Maybe a cutaway to some stills…something to punctuate it.

Some great footage though…and OK riding!!! ;-)

My lad is 12 and plays classical guitar. His teacher tells me he merits a better guitar now he is studying for grade 3. I’m don’t know anything about them but wonder what I should be paying for something decent. I’ve looked at Yamaha and they seem very good value. Any advice welcome.

Why not ask his teacher how much better a guitar he merits, and what sort of money you need to spend?

    As others have said…YAMAHA.
Though personally, for me, although Yamaha guitars play great they lack character…I know nothing!

To set the scene. I have a proper, grown up, job

Now, while I could afford to live well enough on the lower wage in my current situation (28, no kids, no mortgage but renting)

You may have a ‘grown up’ job, but you’re not yet ‘grown up’…

The key to life is to have a job you enjoy (and are good at) while earning more than enough money to enjoy life at a level that suits you.

I can’t see how anyone who works in an LBS (except maybe the owner) will ever achieve that, once they have a family – so as long as you don’t want a family, go for it.

Well that’s me fecked then!!! :-)

Do it! Do what you love….who knows where it will take you…at least you’ll enjoy the journey.

I was an IT contractor I earned great money…money I never imagined I would earn. I hated it, I came to hate everything about it. I stopped sold up, moved out. I now have a fraction of the money, a fraction of the stress, I do what I love….I won’t go back.

    Are you racing?
    Heavier goes downhill faster.
Heavier is less likely to puncture.
The only really light tubes you need are the ones you carry to get you home in the event of a puncture.

I have two things to add…

    1. I had a couple of problems in my late 40s that lead to me seeing a chiropractor. I expressed a worry to him that my obsession with cycling might be bad for my health. He told me not to worry, as the problems I might get from regular exercise were preferable to those I might get from no exercise.

    2. I broke my collar bone in three bits when I was 55. I was back riding in 6 weeks with no surgical intervention.

    Bottom line….it’s a lottery!!!

@PeterPoddy – no big deal. I went in there to buy something. It was too hard. They were too busy to serve me, although I was the only one there in person. The whole experience was bad. I never went there again.

Dominance, showing it who’s boss, is a very outdated method of training/conditioning an animal.

The ‘dominance’ model of animal behaviour is flawed.

Anyone punching a horse is a total prick and should be reported for cruelty. There is no excuse for it.

If you saw it take place you should do something!

    IMHO…
Getting it plated is the last resort!
It’s a full on operation with all the associated risks.

So you got two weeks to give it your best shot!

Even with a fairly bad collar bone break it’ll heal well and be as good as new if you treat it right.

The crucial stage is from day one to around ten to fourteen days. During the later part of this period you’ll get what’s known as a ‘fibrous union’. After that it’s just a hardening off process.

So, for the first couple of weeks do very little, rest and give it a chance. After that, assuming no complications, you can start turbo sessions. Pretty soon after, around the three week mark, that you can go for gentle rides (think, roadie towpath style). But, if you fall of and land on it you’ll **** it good so be careful.

By six weeks you’ll be back riding normal – but be careful, make it progressive. After two months, it’s fixed, and it’ll never break in the same place again.

All the above assumes that you are normal healthy sort of geezer.

    1. figure of 8 bandage, strapped tight for at leat two weeks.
    2. Complete rest and no pissin about for at least 12 days.
    3. After two week you can go on the turbo.
    4. After three weeks you can go on your road bike, but be bloody careful.
    5. After six weeks you’ll be fine.

    Any good?
