I have got down “That Bit” twice, On One Ti 456 140 Floats. 😀 Also cleared the climb up Jenkin Hill twice (4 years ago now) same bike…..

I`d personaly leave it till the evening. We usually set off about 3ish and most of the folk are coming down by then anyway.

    Yes i`d say yiou need a 54cm.

I have close ties with my LBC and one of which they sell are Cannondale`s. Now from what i can gather from the shop floor is that you need to size down by 1 for a C.D compared to others…..

They also sell trek`s (which i have in a 56) but the equivilent C.D would be a 54. i know this as i allmost bought one for my missus (who normally is a 54) but she would have had to have a 52 in the C.D.

So, as the others have suggested ( and im 5 10″ but have a 33″ inseem) you`ll need a 54. You can alter ther reach a little with a different stem, a local shop should do this with the sale.

    Hope this helps….. 🙂

It has been a while since we were up Esk Hawes (due to the crap weather last year) but we did set off from there towards Scafell Pike and as PR (how ya doin BTW mate)said, it is impossible on a bike.
3 others went that way as well and alltough they made it to Sf Pike summit, they were walking all the way from the corridor root and back, (but at least they can say they`ve done it !! 😉 )

Anyway, Great Gable is ACE and then you`ve got Styhead Gyll all the way down to Seathwaite (and that is allways GOOD…..On a hard tail too!!!! 🙄

My full pack usually weighs at least 7kg at the start of a ride……3kg is water, armour strapped on, a few tools, 2 tubes + CO2 canisters and a jacket…….I`m only 66kgs, so more than 10% 🙄

I use the Endura Flyte, mainly for the MTB, but its really good for when its really cold/windy/wet, although you will get wet eventually it does keep the cold out.

When the weather is not too cold i have the Endura Equip. light, pocket packable and waterproof enough to cope. the green one is really visable as well. 😉

I had the predessesor to that Lemond carbon (top of page). Mine was the 1990 team issue that had the Yellow and Pink. I bought it in 91 and only sold it last year, still looking “allmost” mint.

That was a fantastic bike……..and sadly missed 😥

Totally agree with the crap pics though 😉

I Had a couple of the smart 1/2 watt lights….

Insanly bright but had no real water resistance…

So, Got a silicone Knog.. thinking this will be ace….. Errrrrrmmmm. NO 😉 Total rubbish when it got wet. (and believe me it got wet on a regular basis, after each was removed, taken appart and placed on a rad to dry) Still utter garbage…..

Now running a Scully…..Had 1 pack in due to not taking it off to dry 😳

relaced without question and am now on No 2.

All of a sudden when you mount up the money spent on rear lights, you may as well have got the Hope Distict Rear…… 😯

    or maybe NOT……… 😉

Seems to me that no-one can come up with a rear light thats affordable! 🙄

You should all try an MTB ride with us then…….Our average is usually between 5-7mph……… 8O. That would include some daft hikerbike and some stupid techy descent 😉

I usually cruise on a road bike at an average of 15-16 solo and with a group roughly 19, in a TT it`s then around 24-25mph.

Just getting back into road after 11 years out 🙄
