BTW, Moses Trod is a bit of a trek……, especially if you`ve ridden from town.

    But its all good stuff!

BearBack…… OK, perhaps not useless…But the Thule bike box only just went in, i mean only just as i had to tip it slightly on its side, while pushing it up onto the second row of seats and them sit it vertical. Also NOT one set of seats folded flat…….

My T5 swallowed it no problem!

I meant to add that they will look untidy after a short while cos the black will wear/scratch off.

You still need the SFN to “nip” the stem down onto the plastic washer/top cup.

I personally dont like them… IMO a nice set of SS spokes makes a wheel look nice.

I hired the Thule box from our lbs when we went to Florida. The Thule box is massive, it weighs 16kg on its own and my thoughts were would it fit in the back of our van. (VW 9 seat T5)…. Yes it went in, on top of everything else, it layed horizontally across where the windows are. (It being a few inches wider there).

However… The enormous 15 seat Chevey bus thing we had over there was allmost useless. I only just got it squezed in throught he side door and it took an entire row of seats up.

I have only put mine on the bike as i am building it, ( not ridden them yet) and they do it…. as in testing them in the front room with no wheels, you have to pull them up with your hands the last 5mm?. That is “out of the box”….

SO, why are they like this?, before i email the shop and “let them know”!

This is an absolute load of rubbish……. 😥

    2 seater sports cars, Audi A4s, BMWs etc…… Get a grip…..

    you need a T5 Transporter 😛

I have a 9 seat T5 and it is plenty big enough to take the family + bikes and is FAST ENOUGH…. for a van…. 8)

And yes… you can overtake in them as well….. 😛

I have had 2 sets of SPDs do this, Deore and XTR, sadly you may find (as with mine) that the retaining clips, (with the spring tensioner) have worn beonde their usable life. New cleats, and max tension make no difference at all, and as Typical Shimano you cant get spares….. 😥

Feb 16th…. cos this happened….. 1 min + (been on here before)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GTbf3VTw9o 😯

Sold that bike and building a nice new Mojo, should`nt be too long now….

Kept going with the road bikes though….(does that count) ❓

Should be fine, find a space where it fits and it will be tucked nicely underneath insted of on top!

Naaa, just sticky pistons. Take the rear wheel out and remove the pads. With a 10mm ring spanner (or large flat s.driver, use cloth as well) gently prize the pistons back and forth using the lever to push them out, and push them back in.

    That should get you going…..

Failing that!, get rid and buy a set of Hope`s 😉

Bear in mind that they will only be 1.2v and therefore will not give the same power output/burntime.

The availability of spares is completely moot given the price difference.

Sorry but IMO thats rubbish. Why have to bin a perfectly good lever or caliper just cos you cant get a bushing, o ring or piston seal?

Hopes win? This is only my opinion and not actual fact…. 😉

Are Shimanos cheaper cos you have to keep buying them to make them last as long as Hope????. Buy cheap, buy twice?…

    Naaaa!

Magically done without a whip! LOL. Naaaa, it`s quite basic really, just the same as allways,
But i think it`s quite clever!

    stoney

Just use your standard Shimano/Sram lockrig tool and the standard chain whip. The centre of the spider spins independantly from the rest of the cassette.

Quite clever when you see it off the bike.

Wigburt!, firstly and most important, Sorry for the “all the gear” thing… Yes i was being a cock (too many friday beers in front of a pc) Sorry…. 😳

Seconly, Nice 1 for nailing Skiddaw/ullock, arguably the best decent in the area…..Front of Grizdale pike to B.waite comes a close second….. 😉

Thirdly….to most of the others, yes i was a bit of a cock…then we all are sometimes?. My point was that it was funny when the others said what had happened…..and in my wisdom with a few cans on board i thought it would wind you all up….and in true ST mannor, thats exactly what happened……I should really appologise to you all if i hadnt been reading this and chuckling to myself……

FWIW, i genueinly am “between bikes”, Stripped and sold the Ti 456,and only have gay road bikes as back up….. and as of mid week this is what the new one looks like…..Hopefully wont be too much longer…

Anyway, Wigburt, we are normally in the bank tavern afterwards I`ll buy you that pint, No hard feelings? 🙄

    There is another hose option. I have just got the Jagwire Hyflow hose, from here;

    http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Sprockets-Bike-Components?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

you buy the hose 3m kit, the banjo, connector kit to suit your brakes. They come in an array of nice colours as well.

As for cable rub… the hose does last longer, and is better to the frame as it has a clear outer which is a little softer than standard hose, still use a little helitape though…..

    From town!

The fist time i had to open the gate 2/3 up Jenkin Hill cos i was first there, Kinda leant forward, pushed and carried on, just a minor dab, and if you hold that as a fail, Then i`d like to see you try it.
Second time i held back to begin with, the gate was held open and i carried on….

Damn near did it last year as well, Age 42!, just a couple of dabs…..

Touch a nerve did i carlos? I agree that people can ride or not what they want, thats fine...but these guys had proper big bikes and all the kit, and couldnt/did`nt follow a cx, ridgid HT. I mean come on…..

But we DID LOL when it was described…..

breadcrumb, I mean Jenkin Hill….. Latrigg in its self is a cracking blast, (after roughly 8 in the eve), Ullock is by far the best desent round here……

    i text`d my mate, (the 3rd guy) and said i would post a thread/argument….

    I could see it happening,

    ncnultycop…sadly nothing legit 😉

Had the Pace 305 Ht frame a few years ago… It was an Awsome ride, but rthe DT Swiss forks were still Crap…. 2 of us had Major problems with the carbon forks….Pace DID NOTHING……said it was “acceptable wear”
Mine, the annodized stanchon wore off completly after 6 months, and after having to pay for a “service”, the magnesium drop out came adrift!….

    Wont be going back there!.
