2 of our bickering group have g.houses. I can ask them if they would be willing to take in a “breakfast only” situation and let you know. I can find out tomorrow.
At least that way you’d get a proper cooked breakkey.

I buy the mag anyway, and it works out slightly cheaper over the duration, so why not get a free light as well, (or not in this case)

    No! 😛

    The old HT had a compact drive crankset. 20/32. 11 34 rear cassette. The gears in inches are as follows;

    20t to 34 15.5
    20t to 30 17.6 (my second sprocket)
Most folk have a 22t, so,

    22 to 34 17.1
    22t to 32 18.1.

    Assuming you`re going 650b with Sram stuff then as follows;

    28t 42 17.3
    30t 42 18.6.

I went with the 28 front ring (XX1 only) as we have steep hills round here and it`s ok. I got used to using my second gear sprocket as bottom gear so that it compares in terms of gear size
At the other end the 10 sprocket is fine for me, yes a smaller gear than i had but i can still pedal it ok on road etc and not be “undergeared”
Remember though…the bigger wheels do roll over slightly better and you do climb/descend faster…..

It does joat… We had a few wet days in August, but on the whole it has been pretty dry and plenty warm enough (until friday) and Ade was up there and he said there were a lot of puddles.
It does seem to be a trait of trail centres! 🙄

The Capra comes in a large as its biggest size and it is anything but a large large, if you get what I mean.

I can’t see it fitting anyone over 6’2″ at all, I’m afraid.

My mate Trev has one and he must be well over 6` and he flies on his…. 😉

There are plenty of nooks and crannies arround the car bodywork that you could hide a key!(i don`t just mean on top/inside a wheel) 😉

    I do…. 💡

    IMHO That is awful. 👿

Far too many thing to go wrong 😉

Ok, i can understand an e bike to help those that maybe cannot pedal as others can….

But fully auto gears??? WT ***k WHY/what is the point????. Surly one part of riding and enjoying riding is being able to get up stuff in something other that bottom gear. I mean when you do something in the next gear up then you know that things are improving yeah?, so why take even the simplest thing of changing gear yourself away….

    Rant over 😉

No gr needed. It is the only path from Latrigg car park to the top of Skiddaw.

From the car park follow the fence left and left again through 2 gates. At the second gate stay left into a short steep climb, over the top and down to the “bottom” gate. Engage low gear and see how far you get……

From this gate it is REALLY HARD 😯 until it levells out. This is Jenkin Hill. It then continues to a gate where you go behind little man ( its obvious at this point not to go up and left but straight on). This next little bit is a restbite until it climbs steep and loose to the last gate. You`re then just 5 mins away from the first decsent point (the very first pile of stones you come to)

Your right boxelder…worse when bone dry cos the ground is like marbles. A little damp semms to bind it together and create a little more grip. 😆

My lungs feel like bursting and my legs simply hurt…I`m getting too old for that sort of stuff!!! 😉

    Tony…..

The bottom of Sticks (Glenridding side) brings you to the bottom of Kepple Cove (allthough i seem yo remember that when you get to some kinda “quarry” you bare right???) and that leads you to the bottom of K.Cove…..Someone may correct me on that…(GAV????) 😉

We rode from Keswick one afternoon, over Sticks (from Thirlmere) and at the bottom (Glenridding side) we turned back up K.Cove to Raise and back down to Thirlmere/Keswick/Pub/Home. 😆

Aey Up Andy… I have cleared it twice in the same summer, 4 years ago (no Strava then). Allmost cleared it last year, got wheelspin at that steep bit before the gate, i usually get to there no probs and if you are on a good day and nail it then you have a good chance of the rest. Had another go on the new Ibis a couple of weeks ago, again stalled at the same point but managed to pedal quite a lot of the rest. but i am 43 and it`s getting harder!!!! 🙄
My Stave times are farly slow as usually with a group and so travell together, have`nt done it on my own…

I bought the Sportful Fiandre “No rain” bibs. Only got to try them once since i bought them in March (cos we`ve had such nice weather this year).

It was a really wet/windy 60 mile ride and they did the job well….. 😛

I`m one of those folk that need to stay dry (ish) cos i get too cold. 😥

aye aye… TBH, i quite liked the soundtrak….. but i do like Enya as well.

I think it is fitting to the landscape!

EDIT!, thegeneralist….. If you were up there filming and even though there was no way of riding off, you`d still do it for the film!!! 8)

But you`d have to have a good head for heights, unlike me!
