That was one night i really wish i had taken my camera. At the top we were sheltered behind the cairn when big Dave landed and as he layed his Santa Cruze down, it flipped over cause of the wind. So then he had a go at body surfing, leaning into the wind @ aprrox 60deg ish and being held by the wind, which was clearly uncomfortable against his face……
We were trying to think at which wind speed it is that you cant stand up. It was that bad that night and yet a perfect clear sky……….

Ironicly i was going to start looking to rehome him as we are about to have No 5 child and it woulnd be fair on him as we would have even less time than we do now….yes he sertainly went on a high, literally 5 mins earlier he was swimming and digging stones out of the river. the downside is that i had to get him home, probably 200 yards, but as he weighs quite a bit and i cant carry him i had to run back and get my barrow!.(a little undignified i know!!) but i couldnt think of anything else.
    Gutted!

16g air bomb and then get the track pump on quick. Only that i did the first ride with the front tyre on backwards.
    Doh!!!
Next night, took it off, caulght most of the fluid, turned it round and it went back on really easy, the tube stayed pressed against the rim. Only thing was, No more air bombs!
    Doh!!!
By which time i was a little vexed, got the track pump on and got mad with it!!! HEY PRESTO!!… I pumped it that fast the tyre seated and stayed up.

    Sorted!

    Farticus,
I run the Ti 456 with a Royce 110 axel and Middleburn cranks. There is approx 2mm between the inner face of the arm and the BB cup ( which is proud of the frame by approx 3mm, this is a Royce design that spreads the bearing load). If the cups were flush with the frame then there would be approx 5mm.
There is approx 6-7mm between the inner face (@ the pedal) and the frame.
I have it set up with close clearence…. you could run a 113-115 for that exra bit.

Same as Ambrose here. Both bikes running this set up. With the chain off the cranks will spin 15+ full revs with a firm tap on the arm.

We did our local loop tonight… Only did the North and a little extra on top but it` was a lot of fun, in the soaking wet…. and was more grippy than normal….(cause it was washed clean).

Nice suggestion Houns!!!! but i am not a fan of external BBs. I have not yet heard of one lasting more than 12 months or so.
Both of mine run Royce sq. tapers and with the chain off the cranks will spin 20+ full revs with a firm tap.

    Dues,
The chainring bolts are Mibbleburn (approx 10-11 years old as are the arm and spider).

    Convert,
The gear cables are Aligator from Clee Cycles. £19.99 a set. I had to but 2 sets for this bike cause the cables fun full lenth and the Aligator set would only do a full bike with the split cable routing.
    They are really smooth though!

Thanks for your nice comments regarding No4 child, “my little girl”. Shes conqered 2 wheels a lot earlier than when the pics were taken. We tried her on a pedal bike with sableizers just to see if she could acually pedal…… she can!!! and she is only 28 months!!!!.
The parking is a bit of an issue though. We live @ the end of a dead end road and we are the oly ones who have 1 car!!!!

£27 for a pair of Shimano pads??????. Thats the best part of £60 to do a bike.
You can probably buy car ones for less.

Try looking at Atera, they are almost Thule quality but a bit cheaper. I got my roof box from “the roofbox co”. Very good indeed. Atera is also standard factory recommendation for most european cars.

It is a 16″ 410mm seat post, 80mm stem, and im 5`10″. When you drop the seat to go down it feels like a BMX, but longer!

    FAB it is!!!!!

And i can appreiciate not everyone likes pink!!!

Yea i know stoner, Oxy does have a fair point though. I got them as a “rolling chassis” Frame , fork and wheels. But on their own these forks are £700!!!!!!

    stoney

80mm stem, and i nearly had black instead of silver, but i remember when i looked at gavgas ti 456, silver was the only way to go.

    Rob,
A few parts are carried over from the old Ti, cassette, rear mech, bb and crank arms/spider. The rest is new and would have cost all new 3.5-3.7k. Approx £500 was already there.
Not the lightest build though, the tyres and forks are quite heavy. It comes in @ less than 26lbs, but it rides ace and will not fall to bits!
