I have just bought a set of these at a really cheap price off e-bay.

http://www.projektwheels.co.uk/ in tubular form (glue on) I have stripped them down to put my own choice of hubs in. You should be able to compare pics of the 2 different types of rim.

Anyway, basically, a clincher rim has a vertical sidewall with a bead at the top for the tyre to sit in and a tubular (glue on) rim has a defined concave shape and no vertical side to it….

    Hope this helps….. 😉

    EDIT…. as aa said! 😉

I too have a LL and ride with Gav….mine`s been hosed down after wet muddy rides so no worries there. You could almost drive a car with mine on full bat (it has 3 settings kindly upgraded by troutie) 😛

    Disclaimer ❗

I have`nt actually tried it and would not advise anyone to 8) i was merly stating how awsomly bright it is……

Thanks for that ntb… but when i said a long time ago , it was in the mid 90s. They were the origional M frames with the seperate hinged arms, It was the cetre frame that snapped and the lens was fine…. (which i still have the arms and placed on the bay for 99p, but there were no takers from 4 watchers) 😥

I will however bear that in mind as i still have M frames and a set of Radars! 😉

A very long time ago i was out on the darkside bike and it was starting to get dark so i took my Oakley M frames off and put them in my jersey rear pocket. Got home no problem, put the bike away, went in the house and sat down on the sofa…… 8)

Crunch ❗ One broke pair of sunnies! 😥

The Blue Iridium lens was OK though and i was able to buy another set with a clear lens…….

Also very nearly cross threaded a rear mech on the hanger on my Greg Lemond carbon road frame. Again, a very long time ago but managed to salvage it before it had gone too far on…… 😳

I also ride them…… (i ride with Gavgas on Tuesdays….) I have been using them for years and find them very good. I have never had a mis-shift and as for compatible grips….. I have a set of 90mm grips on. I think they are ODI (but it is worth checking).

Go on… you know you want to…. 😉

    Gary M……

I have last years LL and Troutie had to fix the lumi connector as is wasnt great and while he had it he upgraded it with the Boost. So it now has 3 settings and a flash mode if you want. You press and hold through a flash mode to switch off.
The Boost is brighter than your current high and it does make a difference but not to be used all the time as your battery won`t last long. I however get 2 winter night rides on a charge but i do use the lower one for road and a mixture off road…

    Quality light though! 😛
