Lister, if you live in central harrogate which includes the shops you have to factor in retail theft etc which will artificial inflate the crime level. Your safe, Harrogate is very posh i thought.

As someone who has just bought a hardtail for time in 10 years i would say you can sit a little heavier on the climbs using the suspension to track the ground a dig in for grip, my first ride on a hardtail I found it realy dificult to climb rocky tracks . The solution for me was to sit lighter on the seat/ more weight over the front / use legs for susspension and speed up to carry my momentum on the rougher sections. Ie Hardtail get speed up where you can and skip over bumpy bits . Full suss : more steady all the way .

Descents : stand up for both Ht/full suss! and ride as normal

I worked with a guy (ex soldier) who went insane / had a breakdown while i was there , interesting to watch to say the least. Ended up getting decked by a policeman who's wedding party he gatecrashed. Got sectioned after a while, escaped and was last seen hiding behind a car scuttling around commando style. Yes 1-2 gradutate roles at anyone time. I did a masters conversion course so my biggest weakness is the lack of any real hands on experience. Out of interest what would you say would be the best route to take. I have been looking for stock and condition surveys and applying for what grad opps are available which are limited in sheffield / north west area. Been phoning around the local surveyors too trying to get some work experience holding ladders but so far no takers.

Still looking would be very interested in any opportunities of work experience as well.

Yeah no A* at the uni's ive been to 60+ 2:1 and 70-80+ 1:1, masters is pass, fail or distinction.

I'll expand on my earlierpoint, build quality isnt great but you get what you pay for, i bought my frame and headset 2nd hand for £220. If i had paid full RRP I may have been a little disappointed. I am 6 foot and find the large with a 70mm stem a perferct fit. I think the bike rides vey well, good balance good going both up and down and a forgiving ride. Would i buy a new brand new 2009 one at full RRP probably not second hand yes. Havent seen the 2010 so cantcomment

been reading some of this thread since it started, but never commented before due to my own personal experiance with my mums cancer. All i can say is keep fighting , do things you have always wanted to do but could never justify , and most strangley forget about it. What i'm trying to say is that it can hang over you and you sit their waiting for the worst and waste whatever time there is, where as if you get run over by a bus you dont have to live your life in fear.

From what i have read this is not you, and i may have repeated what has already been said but best of luck to you and meg.
