JCT minor works as mentioned above and a plan of works
check he’s using the materials that you specified not cheaper alternatives ,
make sure your specification is complete if you dont spec it you cant complain when its not there ie solid wood not mdf skirting boards
Inform building control / planning authority
Dont pay for work not done or anything that isnt fixed down if the builder goes bust its not yours but set periodic or stage payments your both happy with
Keep a 5% retention for 1-2 months incase of snags
OR Pay a building surveyor to be your PM and not worry about it

phah i use a 10 year old chain / cassette/ chainrings on my commuter and its fine and i hardly ever clean or obsevively maintain my bikes just a good spray of TF2. However, on my new fancy 5spot which has been recieving the same treatment i snapped the chain twice on sunday and its only 5 months old i reckon these new 9speed chains are to thin/ weak myself .

As a previous seller of outdoor and climbing equipment i would say a good sales assistant will depend on the customer, some people know what they want and only require you to complete the transaction, those with less experiance will require you advice and opinion, it is your job therefore, to understand what they NEED and what they WANT using your experiance, a sound knowledge of and actually doing the sport is crucuial. An understanding of the weights of every bottom bracket, headset etc is not . The 3rd and possibly most crucial aspect is the ability to make a good cuppa , eat excessive amounts of cake and stare out of windows while bored out of your brain.

Ooh so what do you architects think about the scottish parliment building then? I thought it was a brilliant building with great finishing/ interior but i am lead to believe there was a slight problem with the budget as someone started to build it before they had finished designing it. 😀

I prefer to ride like an idiot making sure everyone around you knows there is a “crazy cyclist” and they will stay well clear. You must be prepared for the stupidest things to occur and take action to avoid them my two favourite are women pushin prams half into the road while waiting to cross solution; appear out of control and skid like a 10year old.
bus drivers are the enemy of every other form of transport ; kick the bus , bang on the windows and my personal favourite after the closest ive come to death, get in front lie your bike down in the middle of the road and attempt to kill the bus driver who is to scared to get out of his cabin. it is after all self defence your honour.

If this was about ski/mountianeering guides you’d have dead customers . Your fired ( in an Alan Sugar way). But yeah he doesntneed to carry enough equip for everyone just himself to be self sufficient

I was 6 when it happened at my grandads remember someone phoning up and telling him to put the TV on my dad was there but fortunately was ok, as some have said before no mobile phones in those days didnt know he was ok till late in the evening. even at a young age it is very vivid to meremeber the policemans hats on the pitch… Live in sheffield now and had exams in the sports halls where they kept he bodies , very strange . Wentdown today to pay my respects it was good to see so many liverpool and owls / blades fans there too.

Thats my only concern the bars would be slightly lower rise so would counter act the shorter stem slightly thing is how do i really now the bike is too small its more upright than my old 1998 rocky mountain element but its a different type of bike , if im honest i like the set up as its is and the stearing feels fine only thing is i would like it to be easier to get the front end up . £60-70 is a lot to spend to try out though might get a 2nd cheap stem to try first.

Ive said it before and i’ll say it again quality on roclites 315 is poor two pairs both failed inside the heel for me, brilliant shoe for running but just dont last. Spoke to a shop owner at a fell race and he said he’d seen lots of shoes fail in this way but i think they have quite a good warranty just need to send them a pic instead of cutting out the toungue and sending them to merrel 😀
