Spooky are doing their own importing now direct from the US, White mountain were bringing a few in previously. Horror taxi is $860 = £523 plus postage and taxes i reckon about £650- 700 to your door

Stonemonkey, I find myself quite jealous of you if you are lucky enough to own that sunn (closet sunn fan here). I take it it’s a bmix of some variety? I never saw one in that colour though.

Thanks bought it off a guy from here, my 2nd sunn. Think its a 98 model i had a team one with R mech hanger and obyss fork in the team blue from bercy about 10 years ago and my aim is to recreate it with this. But the yellow is almost to nice to scrap.

Surely only 853 steel should be classed as pure steel, everything else is a poor imitation, imo

i disagree, plus how many complete 853 bikes are there

As above really BC really need someone at home all day or another dog for company and stimulation. Lots of exercise is a must amd agility or flyball is good as it stimulates them mentally is well. I used to hide treats in the house and the dog would search for them very methodically. Thinking myself of getting another dog and would go for a collie cross, both in terms of temperment and health issues eg hips etc.

I would have kicked off big style, it amazing how so many “hard bastards” shit themselves when theres a real chance of scrapping. Although as my dad used to say dont worry when there shouting its when they stop you want too worry.

Depending on the hub , could be that the cone nuts are loose, or the wheel isn’t in the dropouts properly.

I have to say that for all the money we spend on kit, MTB’ers as a whole are particularly bad at having lessons or technique sessions to iron out failings in our skills.

Straightliner, i agree with this , even more how often do people actually practice skills on their own, i never go back andrepeat a section / think about what i’m doing on a ride at the time i might do it the next week but i think i will start to spend more time practising sections on the trail

    Thanks everybody ,

Buzz some good ponts there, in regards to point 5 this is what ive been trying to achieve , by increasing traction by compressing the bike , in a similar way to driving a car and you weight the front to improve traction via braking . The key is i suppose to find the balance between loading the tires enough to maintain grip and overloading them . I expect to crash a lot this weekend! 🙁

    stonemonkey

Any suggestions then , i’ll look at all the tire theads as well for the peaks

they’re the fire xc pro to be precise, tbh i was hoping this was the case, was out with my mate who has just bought a new trance x1 with kenda nevegals i think, and he took far more speed on two fast “s” coners than i could , it was his first proper ride on the bike as well and my back brake wasnt working but still , it pissed me off.

I bought a 25ltr and 20 ltr after my stuff got drowned after a ride and my phone broke, the 20ltr is better for cycling with the side pockets and bungees that can work as a compression straps. Have yet to use the the 25ltr (jaffa) was going to use it for canoeing trips but its for sale if you want

Use mine when standing on fire/ tarmac roads have it set as light as possible to identify poor technique. Less annoying than winding forks down on the climb up and then forgeting to put them back up again on the way down.
