Fascinating. We are 21 years married, with each other sharing joint accounts a few years before that. Two shared accounts, Two shared CCs. We can take whatever money we want out – we trust each other. Given that in any split up or divorce your partner will find out very quickly what you had in your accounts, why hide? We can spend independently and trust each other/support each other. What kind of “independence” is being maintained by those who don’t share accounts – apart from better ability to cheat? ;)

And we never argue about money TJ…

Never understood this totally separate bank account thing, unless incomes are very disproportionate or one partner has a history of credit card debts or gambling.

I’d say Stuart Lee and Jerry Sadowitz are the best in the UK now. Jerry is doing some shows for a video he is recording this weekend.

Bill Hicks was brilliant in his day, now looks a bit less so, perhaps because so many people have ripped him off… including Dennis Leary – and if you want to have fun – see what Hicks used to say about Leary.

Stuart Lee has a new series of his “Comedy Vehicle” coming quite soon.

    What jet26 says.

The one to watch for is the scaphoid. Broke mine riding Fixie 30yrs + ago. Still hurts. Google anatomical snuffbox. If that is really tender she may well have a scaphoid fracture which hasn’t shown yet. So if it is still painful next week seek help.

I’m a very keen skier, spending 4 weeks a year on snow (would like 6-8) and have tried Glaciers, Plastic and Fridges (like Hemel where I will be going every other month over the Summer).

They are all pants. Glaciers are worth only if you are doing race training.

You shouldn’t eat leeks in June or Strawberries in December, get her up the duff right now. See you on the snow next Winter. 8)

    Nice ride at swinley.

Till I fell, knocked myself unconscious, needed an ambulance and a brain scan. Now the right hand side of my face looks awful.

    Hey ho…

I’m not a rower – never have been, despite going to a rowing school and the university which won today. But I do have mates who row who are very very far away from you idea of toff, loddrik and who have never been near a public school or university, and who would laugh at your silly early 1980’s class warrior stand.

The boat race bores me rigid. But despite being only 7% of the kids in the UK, ex-public school kids will make up 33% of the GB 2012 Olympic team. If you want to look at the proportions in the last olympics who won medals it is higher still. So you better avoid the TV in 2012.

I’m not saying it is a perfect world, and my kids go to state schools. But such chippy rhetoric is pointless.

If it is open when your deal is on – Aquafan (largest water park in Europe) and Oltremare down the road at Riccione, +1 for Urbino, and Fano is worth a visit to.

True sleep disorders like Obstructive Sleep apnoea are pretty unusual in someone with your build unless you have nasal/soft palate issues. Google “Epworth Score” and see how you do. If you are normal on this and do not snore and not falling asleep at work, I would not pursue sleep studies.

You should have had Thyroid Function tests and a glucose level done – but they are almost certainly normal in a bloke of your age and weight.

But most of the people we see with this – or feeling TATT – are just a bit knackered. And it is quite often teachers.

For any more detailed advice over the internet one would need to know waaayy more. Including alcohol, any history of liver/autoimmune problems etc etc so probably best to leave it there and implement the “sleep hygiene” measures Becky mentions.

above should say mention trail centres not map them…

Ok. Mine arrived a few days ago. Comments about the paper are correct. Mine came with all the pages ridged as though it had got wet. Obviously a decision (correct I am sure) not to say much about trail centres other than map them. But I would have expected to see some more maps and details of the Surrey hills. The maps are ok but the trails are not marked very clearly on them.

Overall I think it is brilliant value and will be a book I look at to get ideas about where to ride. But I’ll need to get supplementary info elsewhere.

They can obviously afford to pay the bonuses and payrises oyu’ve been previously promised so i’d start there. Just higlight that you haven;t had these payrises yet and as newer employees have you think its only fair. The boss might just be keeping the purse strings closed because your not pushing the issue. If you don’t ask you don’t get

    this +1

but other than that, your description of her achievements is an argument for her to be paid less, not you to be paid more.

I’d lift the floorboards above it and put in a noggin between the joists to attach it unless it is already directly under a joist (which it might well be – old light fittings tending to have been heavy. Then hook for chandelier into that beam/noggin.

most ski instructors get paid less than school teachers
male pornstars get paid less than female pornstars

That’s the market for you. If you are underpaid by industry standards, and are sure you can find another job, then have the conversation… but her treatment does not set a precedent for you.

Before you issue an ultimatum – think about 2 questions…

    1) Are your pay and conditions unreasonable by industry standards for your experience, skills and seniority?

    2) How easily could you be replaced?

How she is treated may be unfair and hurtful to you – but is irrelevant to how you are paid unless you can prove that you do fundamentally the same job as her… which you don’t.

In the happy days when I had a mark 3 Cortina, I kept a spare alternator and starter motor in the boot with a socket set. Tenner for each from a scrap yard. About 5-10 minutes to change either. Not so easy these days.

Still might be worth ringing around scrapyards

Mark it is a good and honourable thing that you are doing trying to put a different viewpoint here, but it does rather ignore the fact that the Credit Card houses themselves have – according to lots of posts here and elsewhere – recognised that there is a particular problem with CRC at the moment to the extent that they are pro-actively cancelling people’s cards, and are able to guess at CRC being involved when people ring up to report scamming?

Given that this is really a bit of a bike news story now – and that you are a journalist writing for a constituency of 470000 unique users a month – what other than an admission by CRC would it take to make you put something about this on your ST home page?

Not for an epic – but for a stumpy I switched from a shock/brain to a TFT pushed RP23 which has been one hell of an upgrade. The correct size was not instantly visible to me on their webpage, but they were able to find one with exactly the right length/stroke.

I’d give TFT a ring and see what they could do.

Grohe are indeed bombproof – but with a 3 bar pump ours runs at 15l/min for one head and 25L/min with two heads, and it doesn’t feel excessive. To do that for long enough we need a separate hot water cylinder (210L) and a 22mm direct feed from a water tank – which it can empty if used by all of us in a morning – despite having a completely separate water tank and cylinder for other hot water and cold water feeds…

Such is the lot of a shower addict…

On the other hand my mum has a great little Mira in-shower wall-mounted unit, (event xs?) incorporating pump and valves running with probably a 1.5 m head above it, which does a half decent job from a cold tank and gravity fed hot water cylinder.

Depends what you are really after – but you don’t get near a proper “hotel shower” experience without a pump and a lot of water.

Nobody can dispute CRC are potential losers here. But the decent thing would have been for them to have fessed up and emailed all their recent customers days ago. And put a notice and apology on their home page.

World’s largest online Bike Store has dozens and perhaps hundreds of scam transactions… not exactly fast to respond or fess up…and does not mention anything about it on their home page…

waderider how big an issue does this have to be… on a bike forum… ?

That’s not very good at all, is it? And goes very clearly against guidelines which quite clearly emphasise that IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion.

But it isn’t a reason to distrust every single GP is it? Unless you think every single Policeman is corrupt, every single teacher a paedophile and every single Mountain Biker a selfish muppet? A few are, and sometimes – just as if you get the run around at your LBS – you need to go to a different one. That’s not putting the blame on her by the way – just a suggestion.

Chewkh you just haven’t read this thread at all… have you…

No issues at all with people paying by paypal which is also the payment window for many many outlets including ebay. This is specific to CC payments to CRC. Credit Cards companies implying that it is CRC themselves who have been compromised. Very clear that this is not a trojan or a key logger on customer side. Could be a problem with hacking of the third party who provides CRCs payments system, or an inside job.

Why would you suggest something like that :?:

bullheart – what the man said – outside very big units, few places have all of Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CT (both of which require special software packages) echo, stress echo and Coronary Angiography.

My patients who need cardiac MRI go up to London for it.
