Just found out that the shop whose site suggested they have the new Giant post in stock won’t get them for 5 weeks…

Seems worth the wait. And gives me some time to sort the routing

Good question. I am in the same boat. Might super glue some of those things in your pic to the bike…

    Where did you find them?

    Ta in advance

Brilliant at the time. The trouble is every one copied him. And now every third rate comic does a joke about the munchies, bits about cigs and drugs being ok, and his delivery has been copied too. So what was cutting edge now looks dated. I still watch him whenever his stuff is shown.

I’d hang on to it. In 10 or 20 years I suspect they will have a lot of retro-chic, be worth a bit and there be a whole cult around them.

It works fine. And the lack of flash is rarely an issue. There are video players for it which will play almost any video format. They are not really laptop replacements. Although pages and keynote aren’t bad. Great for travelling, surfing on the sofa, and doing a lot of iPod type things. A great grown-up toy.

He maybe right. There is a reason why wine is often kept in caves and cellars. Ours stays cool whatever the weather just 1-2m below ground level in a stone cellar.

    What about heading down?

I’m not sure the teachers I meet are gettig any smarter. Pretty sure that I read something saying that their own A level grades were falling. I hope to be proved wrong.

But better training can compensate for that. Not sure about there being fewer poor teachers either. If you look at the tiny number of teachers UK wide who are banned from teaching the number is tiny. And ask my eldest at a relatively good comp and he will tell you who is a poor teacher. The kids all know.

Coyote I knew the words myself but gave him the dictionary etc etc etc And yes I blame the parents too… For not asking the school why they expect so little.

Kids are more serious about their studies but the exams aren’t getting any harder for sure.

Love mine 90% of the time.

That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to work 25% less for 10% less money, or don’t want to ever retire.

    Nice idea. 😉

My 15 year old is doing French and Spanish GCSEs next year, is predicted to get A or B in both, and has done well in the modules he has done so far…

And when I asked him yesterday he could not tell me the word for Left, or Right, in either language. 🙁

Thing is – the OP obviously doesn’t like the situation and feels taken advantage of.

This is a whole different situation from the consensual one Elfin describes. May be closer to ILMGs than he realises 😉 But nice to see care in the community working… And anyone who thinks they would never see their folks in a residential home is obviously very early in their training and hasn’t met many people with severe dementia.

Of course certain posters have to express their independence by a little light Internet trolling whilst actually still being dependent on their parents. 😉

Crikey errr… or it might be that some of us cannot understand why we have let bread become a crappy aerated product when people of all classes in other countries wouldnt stand for it. Yep there is good bread out there in the uk and I try and buy it. But often it is a rip-off aspirational product.

I’d say there is some prolier-than-thou inverse snobbery in those here who are defending poor quality food. It just isn’t a class thing in other countries.

Thomthumb good point well made. And a close look around a US supermarket might get rid of the idea that a huge range of choice means quality. Better bread in our Co-op.

Brown on both. I used to do the red on bacon thing, but saw the light.

Tomato ketchup is for Burgers Chips and for kids.

Nope Binners. It’s about why our country is one where we have abandoned lots of the good cheap food which is not class linked anywhere else.

Bacon and brown sauce yes. But on something crusty ffs.

Yep there is great bread available. But most isn’t. I’m in Bilbao at the moment. Most of the bread is crunchy and flavourful and a joy. And is eaten by all classes.

Compare what you get as a sandwich even at classier places in the UK with the things you get in France, Italy and Spain. About all you can say in favour of 90% of UK bread is that it is efficient to pack and lasts well.

Pessimists just use their fear of failure as an excuse to take no risks. They get no joy as a result.

Optimists are annoying idiots who deserve it when things go titsup.

I have one. It is most of those things. More fun to drive than the 3 series estate I had before it. Boot not as high but longer than my wife’s Forester. With a family inside and a roof rack on mpg is about 40 to 42. Which is not as good as the bmw was, and the engines has less poke. But it’s a keeper. The engine does sound like a diesel unlike the BMW but I can live with that. Dealers were willing to negotiate a fair bit when I was buying. Also it just feels tougher than recent cars I have had. And when someone hit us head on with a closing speed of 100ish in our last forester, we all walked away.

The evidence base for physio in shoulder problems is not great. But it may keep things moving. Try walking your hand up a wall in front and beside you.

If you can fully externally rotate your shoulder and rotate your thumb fully downwards when your arm is abducted to 90 degrees just wait and see. Most get better whatever. If you have loss of external rotation or some impingement then you may need referral if it persists.

    More on exam here http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/40001055/

And Hora is wrong. I see lots of things like this with relatively minor or no unusual or strenuous action starting it off.

You did a 3 point turn in a place where you could not adequately assess the traffic.
You obstructed a vehicle who was proceeding along that road.
You have only just passed your test and seem to be assuming you are in the right.
You then came to moan about it here to flaunt your righteous anger.

Why not chill, consider the possibility that you were wrong, as most of us are from time to time, and learn.

There is a reason that young male drivers have such high insurance premiums. They drive like idiots. I know, I was one.

It was interesting seeing a friend break her carbon bars in a low speed fall off a small jump 2 weeks back…

I have carbon bars on one bike, Ally on two others. I suspect the forks and grips are rather more important in deciding what gets transmitted to my hands/wrists. Generally when I get numb hands later it is because I have been gripping too tight. And it is as often with the carbon as the ally.

    Broad Beans finished
    Courgettes still coming
    First tomatoes going red
Lots of Chillis on the way
Borlotti and Spanish White beans thickening up nicely.
    Lettuce looking tired
Badgers seem to be sharing the potatoes
Tons of chillis on the way
I forgot to sow any leeks 🙁

…but as a GP I’d always send them to a dentist in any case – because the dentist knows more and we already do quite enough of the dentists’ work when they can’t be bothered to see patients with abscesses in a timely fashion… 😉

A funny apology – but from an act who I have watched on youtube a good few times and always found joyless, thick and stupid. And not even decent singers. There are better and funnier providers of swearing and cock jokes available.

And comedy can be an art – just often isn’t.

I’ve met people older doing this. And hopefully someone like that will be along.

One question to ask. What is her goal? Even with a truncated course she is going to be studying/ working for 9-10 years before she has any real career autonomy. But life as a junior Dr is hugely better than when I did it. If she is doing it for curiosity and fun that’s great. Education is never a loss. And despite all the whinges I hear from colleagues it can be a great job.

    Good luck to her

You could argue that it is less harmful than the life advice given in this forum by a bunch of people with limited professional or financial success, so few real friends that they spend their spare time here and so ugly and charmless that they have never had any relationship dilemmas. 😉

My local area and I am one of the people who helps build new bits.

The car parking is extortionate. But if you go there regularly joining our club gets you cheap annual parking and the dosh goes to trail-building. And please come and join us – google Bedgebury Boars.

Basically we lack the hills Surrey Hills has. I ride on a SS 50% of the time there with no problems. Some of the best bits are not on the marked trails. Yep the black just has a few jumps with no chicken line but obligatory air means “black” to the FC…. The first 2/3 of the red run is pretty good, esp if you know the alternatives… The berms and jumps in “gloomy wood” (named just before the FC removed all the trees…) have just been reopened after being redesigned with input from us. and we have another 1km we hope to open soon.

Wet? Yes… But the Brechfa black was worse on Saturday and Friston really gets very damp.

It’s what we have and we are trying to get the FC to see our views. More people turning upto trail builds would help…. 😉

If you think you will never want kids – then you have done the right thing

If you think you will do one day – compromise now.

If you are unsure what you will want in the future – how do you think you can make your mind up?
