    Labour

although Corbyn is a bit thick and despite voting >500 times against the whip is now a neo-stalinist in his insistence on line-toeing. And John McDonell is not a nice piece of work.

May however is craven coward, a third-rate turncoat surrounded by weasels like Hunt and Boris.

And then there is Farron

    Chainsaw is a decent tip…

I lived in Northern Newfoundland one winter and Moose-related-accidents were the issue there. They are fast and stupid and the lazy way to get one was to cruise in your pick-up truck, lights out at dusk, and shoot them from the cab. But they were so big that the only way two people could get them in the back was to use the chainsaw they invariably carried in the back for getting firewood. Lots of big roadside pools of blood and guts…

Be worried. We had a local killed by one a few years ago down here in East Sussex. A few months before that I was in a taxi which hit one (£300 of bumper/front-end damage only). Lots here at dusk. Lots of bits of roads though woods where I drive more slowly at dusk/dawn and try to take a defensive middle line where possible.

Flaperon seems to work though… thanks for the insight

wobbliscott Isn’t this one of those things where it is a useful pragmatic mathematical model under some circumstaces, but one which is based on a false analogy rather than fact, a bit like thinking of electrons as actual physical particles with a location?

My teenage summers were blighted by my parents, both Drs, not realising I had hay fever. Later I was in one of the drug trials for terfenadine and it changed my life

Secondly DO NOT take daily antihistamines as it will lesser the affect. Only take them when needed and in serious cases you can up the dosage. For a 3 month period ( this was prescribeD) I took 20ml a day of Cetirizine for random facial swelling

not sure this is true – I prescribe them and haven’t seen it happen yet.

Fexofenadine may be best kept in reserve – side-effects more of an issue.
I find loratadine better with my HF than cetirizine, but YMMV

Lastly – as I get older it has become less of an issue. :)

Camber generates both lower wing surface angle of attack in planes and a downwards flow of air over the trailing edge of the wing which causes a Newtonian reaction upwards. And flaps and leading-edge devices/droops used at slow speeds increase this. You don’t need to invoke every out-of-touch physics teacher’s inappropriate use of Bernoulli to explain lift.

I’m pretty sure we did this one some years ago btw…

    Stoatsbrother

Nope – the old schoolboy thing about planes being sucked up by the bernouilli principle is simplistic and incomplete/inaccurate I understand.

    Otherwise

    1) why do so many high performance planes not have classic foil shaped wings?
    2) How do planes fly upside down?
    3) Why should packets of air going over the longer upper surface travel faster to keep up with those going under the wing in order to justify that explanation? (And they don’t…)

House insurance with a valuation certificate

This – and my ex lost hers when we lived in Australia and we needed the insurance…

About to buy another one for someone (to replace the rather convincing £7.99 job from Amazon…) and will be insuring the hell out of the new one.

The £7.99 option is an alternative though…

    Hmmm…

Just switched from a scooby legacy 2010 to a new Levorg.

Both on 225 40 R18 rims, so I kept the spare I’d bought, but it’s actually on 114.3 bcd rather than 100mm…

    So if the 5x 100mm with a 48mm offset fitted your forrester…

Ok, an opinion from someone who is in the medical racket…

He was bleeding more intensively BECAUSE of the diagnostic bronchoscopy which he had had done. That should have been attempted to be fixed. It’s the campsite rule, tests ideally shouldn’t leave you worse than you were before.

Most people with COPD and lung cancer are squarely to blame for what happened, but when we had made him worse, we should have been able to get him back to the pre scope status, and then have the discussion about treatment.

Before I’d even had a chance to get out if the car the dog had tore off was allowed by his owner straight towards a couple who were relaxing on a blanket, presumably enjoying a picnic.

    FTFY…

Had a nice week in Sitges last year – but not really for young kids – it isn’t that kind of beach really.

I love San Sebastian and off there for a bit this year – but again a bit big city-ish.

However – kids that age don’t really remember much about it in a few years time so I would also choose the place for you!

    Near Zarautz or around Comillas

this – or lots of places on the North Coast

If this is Summer, the South Coast is too hot for small kids.

I’d chuck Llanes and Gijon into the mix too.

As the father of kids, I’d be more worried about the paedophiles i don’t know about than the ones I do.

Sounds like a useful teachable moment for your kids about what to watch out.

Most of us have been done. Many of us use it as a learning experience. And my SAC was great.

Special pleading by those who think that it is a revenue trap, rather than something which has contributed to us being the second safest country in which to drive, or , to fail to understand that most cameras are sited where KSIs have occurred, or to slightly patronisingly excuse their wife from obeying the law, seems a bit sad.

Just done miné completely on line, no printing out needed. Uploaded a photo, paid the money on line, chucked the old one in an envelope with no accompanying letter, and the new one is in its way back 5 days later.

I thought they’d be great to have till I lived with a girl with one, yes champagne and moonlight and whatever is fun, and it never went soupy, but it cost a bomb to heat and you needed to spend too much time testing/adding chemicals/cleaning filters/getting leaves and spiders out. And it rapidly stopped being fun.

From a work point of view I have seen some people with interesting rashes from them too… :)

    Awful, simply awful.

After over 3000 people were killed in sectarian violence in Northern Ireland, inspired in part by Christian belief, and often funded by people in the US, we would do well to remember that the main thing about people who do this sort of thing is they are arseholes, pathetic gullible scum, who show no real understanding of their own religion. Hating the religion or reacting like one or two above (and there will be more) just gives pathetic inadequate dickwads more power than they deserve.

scaremongering article from a site targeted at those who might most resent having to do the same speed limit as mere mortals.

What really counts is the tolerance on the measuring kit and how individual forces and speed partnerships pursue this. It is difficult to see that 1 mph too fast would be legally sustainable unless all the kit were calibrated multiple times a day. More likely to be 10% + 1mph as it often is now.

The option to drive within the limits already exists… and most speedometers over-read enough to make actually getting a ticket an excuse-free crime. Chill out, use Cruise.

I like that. Might well use it. She spent a few years in Mexico. Already planning to nick Cougar’s (I think) Rick Astley vows…

Not going to ask her dad, that would annoy her, or her kids ( who will be ok with it – their dad is remarrying soon) but will give mine a heads up, already mentioned it to them. Haven’t told my 21 year old I want him to be best man yet! And he will be in Prague next year so stag location sorted… :)

The cheapo fake ring has arrived – just need to work out a location now. Plaza de Colon would make a good story… :)
