Seatpost – personally, no. Others have reported slipping but easily cured with a new clamp.

Hubs are QR. Spacing is 100mm / 135mm.

    SRAM GPX BB.

Dyfi Junction is a complete anti-climax and became the finish mainly by default and time restraints. I’m putting together an additional section at the moment which means a proper paddle in the sea, chips and ice cream. 😀

For anyone not too concerned about following the route to the letter, the descent from the monument is much better than Foel Fadian. Both terminate in much the same place.

ashat, if it’s any help I can shorten the folded lengths for you if you like … assuming they’re carbon.

I think I tested the first pair in the country – still like them, still use them but as people have said, not for everyone and not a cheap experiment.

Really, any route calling itself the Sarn Helen has virtually nothing in common with the road of the same name, except they’re both in Wales ;o)

Bear Bones 200 next Oct would probably fit the bill.

I’m doing the Bearbones 200 this weekend and it’s also a “bikepacking” event, even though many of the participants plan on riding right through the night for a sub-24hr time.

Planning and doing, can be very different at times Colin 😉

but then realised my mistake as it was actually a tandem

That’ll be Rich and Shona the purveyors of shiney things at Keep Pedalling on their Salsa Powder Keg.

On-One OG bars are pretty much the same thing.

I generally think it works better west to east but it’s okay the other way too. Fine on a crosser, any kind of rear suspension is probably overkill.

The bigger bearbones stove is the better one, the small one will boil 200ml of water and not much more.

8g should boil 400ml easy enough. What mug and windshield are you using?

Tony, get your arse to the WRT (you’ve got an entry). Chew’s running a ‘lonely hearts club’ group so you’ve no need to worry about route planning. No one will care if you’re slow, grumpy or grumpy and slow … I reckon it’s just what you need.

Mountain Road out of Machynlleth heading for Llanidloes … pretty much 8 miles of up hill, that gets steeper the further you go.

The WRT ‘weigh-in’ usually makes for interesting viewing. I think the lowest recorded weight (bike, kit, food, water) was just under 32lb and the heaviest somewhere over 120lb but to be fair, that did include a trailer.

Quite a few folk out last weekend on the Bear Bones ‘Bach to Bach’ … horrible conditions but plenty of tea, cake and toast to counter the effects of the weather.

Nothing else tapered as far as I know. If it’s to go inside a harness, etc then pretty much any dry bag of the appropriate size will work fine.

    Where is the Bearbones 200?

    Sunny mid-Wales

There’s also the Welsh Ride Thing at the start of May … quite unlike anything else 😉

Anyone knows the tyre clarance (27.5+ or 29″) of the 2016 frameset?

With the TrailBlazer there’s 20mm on the non-driveside and allowing for the chain, about 15mm on the driveside.

I’ve been riding one for the last five weeks. Yes, the fork is stiff and no, it shouldn’t be enough to put you off buying one.

Full review on the Bear Bones site in the next couple of days.

The Digest are a nice bar but much more like a Woodchipper – wide and very flared.

    Motorcycles & Adults £2.50

Well there you go, said I could be wrong 😀 … meeting a mc over there seems like a scary prospect given that there’s not much spare room for a bicycle and walker to pass

I think it might be classed as a road as Motorcycles are allowed to use it.

I could be wrong but I don’t think they are.

I think the fork is a plus point curves ride well and less toe overlap.

As Ben says, looks like the production version will have a straight blade fork … sadly.

After cleaning, driving, cleaning, driving, etc I got tired of the process so just unplugged it … no issues since.

You need some air flow. There’s no need to peg the thing to the ground, leave a 6 inch gap and that’ll help. The long grass might also have made the problem worse as it’ll hold a lot of moisture which condenses on the underside of the tarp. Using a waterproof groundsheet can lessen the problem.

If it’s any consolation, the tarp acted as a ‘condensation sink’ … without it, your bivvy bag would likely have been soaked.

Consider adding some lines to the mid-panels … it’ll add a bit of stability and also increase the interior space.
