I have Henges on all my bikes but the 2015 Henge is a bit harder than previous versions and i’ve had to return one as the rails became loose.

From the way you describe them I’d keep the Cove, especially as you say you loved it more than any of your others. Sod the money value!

Just for confirmation for you, I emailed OneUp about using an X9 type 2 mech, their reply:

The RAD cage makes a Shimano derailleur work like a SRAM, so you should get great performance from your X9 derailleur.
