Dhr 2 front forekaster 2 rear both in maxxterra exo+ works for me as a lighter allround choice, that’s on an alloy aether 9 too.

I have a Pace RC529 and love it as a mullet, 27 5 x 2.8 on the back really takes some of the sting out.

Pace RC529 mullets well. 2.8 on the back takes some of the sting out too.

Very nice, seen youre going to invisiframe, I also put some extra protection on the top tube for when the bars swing round and don’t do the bolts up crazy tight on the controls.

I have an Epic Evo, it’s very capable (I did the Ardrock on it and it was great). The one downside is it does bob when climbing which isn’t ideal if doing a lot of xc racing.

    Nope  it doesn’t.

Maybe bung the dissector on the front and go for something lighter on the back

    Yup that looks gorgeous!

Put your chassis number in to the Rockshox Trailhead app and it’ll give you the upgrade options with part codes.

I have one (Expert spec), it does bob a bit so I use the lockout on longer climbs, I could probably set it up stiffer but it feels great on descents. Rode the Ardrock on it and had no problems. I had an Epic a couple of years ago but I didn’t like the feel of the Brain.

I was very impressed with the new Supertrail Nobby Nic on the back at the Ardrock. More grip than I was expecting, but rereading your original post it might be overwhelmed by ‘steep mud’ tbh.

I’ve had my info from them, Sport too, tried loads of times to get in, finally made it this year.

Don’t know what sort of thing you’re after but on top of Southern Enduro there’s:

Had the same problem, madison codebreakers work for me and they’re cheap. Loads of different lenses available including photochromic.

I think Whytes come with tubeless valves.

I’ve always ridden flats but try clipping in every now and then, I’ve tried Shimanos but felt a bit perched (including caged ones), then tried the Mallet e’s and they felt much more like flats, had an actual platform to stand on. Not as definite to clip in and out of but more natural. Still make me nervous compared to flats though tbh.

I too am old and love a volvo, loved my old 940, bike in the back, wheels on, bit thirsty though. Currently have a T5 V50.

Has anyone else noticed how many volvos are used in film and TV?

I tried on the Jackal along with the mips version and it was definitely lighter and hopefully more ventilated…I ordered one

I use a Primula reusable filter thing, works perfectly for me, light and flat.

Like a bowl of spaghetti, loads of tight squirelly singletrack with short sharp ups and downs.

Did a session with Sam Copp last week, excellent teacher, he gave me a lot to work on, it all made sense, I’ve now just got to apply it. I can see myself going back in a few months.

Good fun, nothing tech, lots of squirelly singletrack, Minley does have a strange spongy energy sapping section though.

I use Bridgedales after recommendations on here, seem fine, as stated above the big difference is wearing trousers rather than shorts.
