I find the Arab-Israeli conflict very confusing so I though I’d google up some image so that I can educate myself a little…

Use the Race Face Ambush vest on occasion when doing shuttle or DH type rides with no backpack, reasonably lightweight and not that noticeable when riding.

No, we run separate accounts but obviously make contributions on the usual spends and I always ensure that there sufficient savings and the like available when needed. I like the subterfuge and the local bike shops here are happy to split receipts 🙂

Just bought a 2017 Tallboy C, around 2400 GBP with 1×12, Race Face Kit and Rythym 120mm forks, I think its a bargain. The mk3 version I have is the current frame geo so if you don’t mind an 18 month old paint job there’s bargains to be had?

….ever go to O’Hare or Dulles then. You’d spontaneously combust in a maelstrom of rage.

….and god help him when he has to deal with the TSA, even people from the 3rd world don’t want that hassle.

Go through a lot of airports around the world and was just in T2 Heathrow a week or so ago, thought it was OK.

On landing I must have gone through the scanners and picked my luggage up within 25 minutes, coming back I found it all reasonably simple, queues tend to move efficiently when people heed the security advice prior to reaching the security checkpoints.

Britain, or England in this case, is not a 3rd world country, you only need to visit an actual 3rd world country to realise that.

Nice Sunday blast, got up early in an attempt to beat the hot HK summer weather, failed, but still managed to get in a 40km ride in the 30 degree, 90% humidity. After recently being back in the in the UK I forgot what actual hot weather was like.

Im reminded of the old Jasper Carrot joke that went along the lines of “remember when we just used to joke about British Rail sandwiches”

Britain’s rail system is absolute tosh, Im reminded of this everytime I catch a train somewhere else.

Having spent considerable time in japan  and having many friends from there, they are the most nationalist bunch of people I have ever met and based on what we know of the Pacific campaign up to 1945 I am surprised they stopped after only 2 A Bombs.

‘Carrier Pilot’ and ‘So they gave me a Seafire’ if you fancy some WW2 carrier aviation from the British perspective, both easy to read and you almost read them in your head in a 1940 pilot type voice.

Also ‘Enemy Coast Ahead’, written by Guy Gibson of Dambusters fame and from this book, a guy that liked a pint.

Have a Firebird for big bouncy bike duties, they are quick and surprisingly capable for climbing and all day adventures for being 170mm travel bikes.

I’m not too sure about the playful side, it seems fine to me and even on relatively flat trails  it seems to do fine, the only downside I find is the push fit BB and no room for a bottle.

I’m 175cm and running a large for a nice long reach and have a coil fitted (Push), only rode it a couple of times with the original X2 on so cant really comment on that.

Owned a Mach6 in the past and find Pivots to be solid built bikes.

Yes, I imagine the like of VW, BMW, Bosche, Airbus etc will be happy to let a large 1st world country (yes, you still are) drift off and not impact their revenue streams.

I forgot one of the reasons I dont miss the UK and this is it, the incessant despondency and fatalism, instead of this despondency you should be looking at the opportunities, the means to make good on the situation, to manage and then look to improve the situation but no, its the usual dull bitching, you do realize that nothing is final, corners can lead to 90, even 180 degree turns?

Disclaimer: Its Friday evening here and I may have been drinking, but I mean what I say about the UKs despondency, as the Chinese say its a crisisstunity.

Watched this twice today, cant get enough of the NRA guys, they almost have a Flat Earth Society zeal to them that makes you kind of want to love them for their intense single mindedness despite reason, logic and facts…then you realize that they are completely hat stand and basically putting peoples lives at risk.

Looks to have that early 11 O Clock Show feel to it which would be good.

Cue a great script, decent team bought on board to produce and direct…then cut to hell by the backers.

As above, art direction from Stallones Dredd with acting and script from Urbans

Brexit, Trump and Putin are the harbingers of a return to the system my father’s generation fought and died to eliminate

    Communists?

Dont forget that a lot of Europe was rather keen on fascism and it didn’t exactly go without a fight, in fact without both Russia and America I imagine it would have been encamped in Europe for a long time.

If you want to see the cold enveloping hand of fascism taking root look at China, Trump is the distraction.

Just spent a couple of months off with a Rotator Cuff injury so now starting to take tentative rides out on the bouncy bike, glorious 30+ weather with dusty trails, pity the creepy crawlies are starting to appear in mass.

I did a 3 week trip many years ago, starting on Juju and then zigzagging up to Seoul.

There are some amazing country parks but be prepared to climb, they like their mountain walks. From what I remember most of the park also had traditional onsens on or nearby to chillax after a day of climbing up and down.

You will get bored of Kimchi very quickly.

Will try to dig out some details as it was over 12 years ago and the memories a but fuzzy.

Been dipping in and out of his 12 Rules book and watched a few of his YouTube content, kind of agree with a lot he says but I don’t think its anything too controversial.

What are these controversial attitudes, must be serious for you to vent online…oh.

I think it was done in the 70’s but would love to see another stab at Spike Milligan’s war diaries, maybe with a Terry Gillianisque type director to add flight to the text.

Mazda 323, EDD 680T, got me through Provisional driving and the test itself at 17 in 1989.

Not sure you can do it now in your own car but I did my test in it and was greatly helped by some tape on the rear hatch that I put there to help with that pesky 3 point turn, reversing around a corner and parking bits of the test?

Top Gear also made the valid point that a fast estate car will do everything an SUV does better, apart from the off road bit.

Until they resurrect a 159 Sportswagaon, I’m out.

… and then these modern toys pretty soon end up in the lap of some really nasty groups and aim them at stuff not flying over Syria.

Yes, the Russians are building up a history of doing that, very recently in the Ukraine.

I’m hope the Russians do a better job of shooting American planes down than they do of Israeli ones.

The Russian force in Syria are a little isolated, to get backup they would need to be airlifted up and over Turkey, plus get their bulk supplies by ship through the Bosphurus, so unless Turkey suddenly decides to leave NATO (and Russia attacking a NATO member kind of stands for what NATO is about) I don’t see all this as being more than a bluff.

Otherwise they could go through Iran, that would encourage some in the Middle East to maybe make this little regional conflict a little more widespread.

I suspect this will all ramp up a bit then die down when China tells them all to calm down as its affecting their Belt and Road plans.

What needs to happen is Assad getting some McDonalds franchises in as I seem to remember there being some stat that says no country with McDonalds franchises have ever gone to war with each other (I could of course be hopelessly wrong here)?

Use the ProFrame here out in SEA (Hong Kong & Chiang Mei), it does get a tadge hot here but I have yet to struggle with it even in summer albeit when shuttling.

When I say hot I mean 27-35 degrees and often humidity up to 95%.

For days when its going to be a long day pedalling punctured with a bit of rock DH I use my Bell Super with detachable chinguard.

Watched it again on iTunes last night for the first time since the cinema.

Visually, and sound wise, it does hold up well but I think the plot or maybe the editing lets it down.

Maybe the pressure to release a film or two every year will have a diminishing return of the general overall storyboard?
