After tax I try to live by the 30% rule i.e. 30% on rent/mortgage, 30% on bills (inc Food), 30% on savings/pension and 10% to spunk at my leisure.
Sometimes its not easy to do but I find that when I get this balance right then life is good.

I’m with the OP on the poppers, cant stand them and now only buy shorts that do not have this design. You can still get early Endura Singletrack shorts with the belt design on CRC.

So, one of your your suggestions is to artificially fix the market (the withdrawal of rent) to enable you to take advantage of this financial situation?

First they came for the Jammy dodgers,
and I didn’t speak out because I was eating a Garibaldi

Then they came for the Digestives,
and I didn’t speak out because I nibbling on a Custard cream

Then they came for the oatcakes,
and I didn’t speak out because I was a bit bloated after a dunking a rich tea in my coffee

    Then they came for me,
and asked me to chip in to the biscuit tin

From what I saw on TV I enjoyed it a lot and friends back in the UK all seem to have had a fun time with many getting to go to some of the events.
Very positive press out in Asia, well done team GB and good luck to the Paralympic athletes.

UK House (Berkshire) pays for itself + and extra 500 GBP a month through renting it out.
Just been in HK for 2 years and not thinking about buying yet, 25% or my salary currently goes on rent here, not bad as to buy, our little 750 Sq ft apartment would cost about 350k GBP…. and we are way out of town near the airport.

    +1 Dickies suggestion.
With XT Groupset, 140-110 Talas at the front and Mavic ST’s mine still comes in around 11.5kg though I cant speak from experience how she would cope in the Alps she manages the trails out here OK, also a better climber than my previous Yeti ASR-5.

Nicolas Cage was also in The Rock, this allows him to make 10 bad films before he can be slated….. sadly he has passed that point.
Cant stand the Harry potter films (never see all of one yet), just never could understand why they are so popular.
Apart from the first 2 star wars films, I also try to avoind anything directed or producewd by George Lucas although I have a soft spot for Howard the Duck.

As someone who usually flies once a month, mostly from HK to Europe, the States, India, China and Singapore I would rank United high up there for poor service.
Last flight with them in June involved a 13 hour flight (HK to SanFran) on a plane with no personal entertainment system and they also managed to miss-lay my baggage.
I also avoid where possible BA (poor service/timekeeping), Iberia (goodbye Baggage/running out of fuel mid-flight and dropping off in another country!) and any Indian airline on a flight longer than 4 hours.
Where possible I fly Cathay, Air New Zealand and Emirates.

When it comes to these prices bear in mind import duties, VAT etc
I speak as a middle aged man who could build his SC Blur TRc up for around 3k GBP due to a complete lack of import duties or sales taxes where I live.
