Hi, thanks for all the advice, just got back and dont feel to bad and according to Sportstracker I did 23km (?) in 2 hours 10 minutes which I dont think is too shoddy for my first attempt?
Just waiting for the Standard Chartered people to post the official times later in the week to see what my official time is.

Generaly kept a steady pace for the first 12km, then had a gel and tried to up my average speed a little for the final 9km. Hit a wall arouand 18km (never run more than 12km before) but managed to get past that by stopping and having a little stretch.

Once again, thanks for the advice.

Used to have Corn snake, great pets, simple to feed, easy to clean (dry poo) and only require a glass box with heat mat.

Seeing the Happy Mondays about 5 years ago was an experience so bad that I wished I had been as out of my head the first, and only other, time I saw then…..then I experienced a moment of clarity, what if they were just crap all along?

Very common out here and guilty of it a lot, food is an important part of Asian culture so it not only tends to crop up in conversation a lot but also as a result ends up with the usually food pics on the social media sites.
In my limited defence though I stick to stuff that is a little different, do it rarely and never take pics of people taking pics.

I am 5’9 and ride a medium with 50mm stem.
Great bike, nice a stiff but as mentioned above the harder you ride the more plush it becames, currently with a Fox RP23 but toying with putting a CCDB Air shock on (courtesy of a couple of Rugby7 Tickets). Had mine for nearly 3 months and its ridden 2-3 a week without any issues, I opted for the standard XT build (but 2×10) and with 160mm Floats up front, in hindsight should have gone Talas as I do a lot of climbing here, no a big problem though.
Oh, and as I write this over my breakfast I am also looking at this….

It is a great do it all bike although a tadge expensive.

I did enjoy it though it took me a while and a little self patience to stick with it, especially with the flashbacks and keeping track of all the characters.
Not usually a historical drama sort of person but it spurred me on to read Azincourt which, though not as cerebral, was a damm good read.

Rudebouy – No, not a UKIP guy but judging by your reply you appear to be the kind of person who likes to ‘label’ others who don’t share your views, mmmmh, where have we seen that before?

I was referring to Francos treatment of the Jews (relevant to this thread) not his murderous dictatorship, guess I didn’t make it clear.

is it coincidence that the germany, italy , and spain –three fascist regimes were bolstered by the RC church ?

Did Franco commit any atrocities, or even Salazars Portugal, I though that Franco was even thanked for helping Jews escape Germany?

Posted this before but late last year I ordered some items on a Sunday morning and they turned up on a Wednesday evening, not bad since I live in Hong Kong.
Been ordering of CRC for about 5 years in and off but never had a problem with deliveries, typically 1 working week out here.

Those Russians, going over there with their Chas n Dave records, eating fish and chips, getting drunk in the afternoon, dancing to the Birdy song and not learning the lingo, who do they think they are ;)

Although I can understand those who appear to be in favour of NK having nuclear weapons as a means of defence but bear in mind (edit):

    1. This strong defence keeps a rather nasty regime in place
    2. This regime needs hard currency to survive (starving the population only gets you so much), how much can they generate through selling both this weapon and rocket technology?

And for all those saying that China will do something about this, they will not. The existence of NK is an irritant to South Korea (a major trading rival), Japan (an historical adversary) and America (an ideological enemy) without affecting their business with all 3 nations plus if South and North Korea did peacefully merge then chances are American bases would be even closer to their border.

And as for us having nuclear weapons I thought that was explained years ago, its because the French have :)

Berm_Bandit, was in Beijing last October and could not believe how bad the pollution was, it even got to the stage of being able to see it at night. But like you mentioned I am sure that our early industrilised cities where just as bad and I seem to remember old pathe news reels of London suffering from really bad smog in the 50’s?
Here in HK the pollution is bad but it hasnt got to Beijing standard yet, hopefully it never will.

I personally preferred the ‘look’ of the Stallone film (and nothing else) but this is a far better film, you dont have to be a 2000ad fan to enjoy it and it moves along at a fair pace.

I think Shanghai is now the most populated city in the world with even more people than Tokyo.
The question would be of all of the 80 cities, how many have terrible pollution?

Now I feel rather pathetic with just the one bike in the living room although with all those fine efforts I might be able to convince the missus than an extra one or two would be normal!

Oh, the apartment door is always locked and there is security in the building entrance and complex itself.

I guess I qualify at the sprightly age of 41…
Wearing comfortable, not fashionable, cloths and not caring
The ability to have a 6th sense on peoples personality when you first meet them
Being able to afford most stuff but just not giving a toss to buy it
Having enough memories of good times to chortle to yourself when confronted with other people talking about similar situations
