It ends with Don being Don, he gets broken down but at the end he is all clean shaven, air brushed neat, fresh shirt and in the zone, in this case figuring out what makes the market tick (in this case peace and love).

Nice ending, and I guess its Don that invented the coke ad?

Every carbon Yeti owner I know has had their swing arm snap, though

I didn’t, I managed to crack the top tube before I could crack the swing arm. Love Yetis having owned both an alloy ASR-5 and a SB66c but I would always be a little unsure of taking a 1st production batch carbon bike of them.

Apologies for the hijack of the thread…..have a friend who just got one, pretty ballsy all out rider, loves it.

Disappointing no one has posted a picture of the Black Knight, down to head and torso, circling the earth and threatening other satellites by demanding they continue the fight.

I guess that Jamie guys gone forever?

My Yeti SB66c frame, I’m guessing I’m not alone on that though?

As a middle aged man I always like to give myself a secret high five if I get into the top ten of any segment, enjoy it, there is no shame in trying to go a little faster as long as it doesn’t spoil the enjoyment of the ride. When you set out to just beat someone else though, that’s when you need to talk to yourself.

Used to have one of those pub table Galaxian games in my lounge, endless hours of fun though I had to get rid of it in the end as the weekend would turn into big long sessions (in all senses) and I just couldn’t get people to leave my house.

Can you survive in Shanghai for 850GBP, I would have though it a struggle as most of the teachers I know in HK are on at least 2k and rising.
Also, you will need some basic Mandarin if you want to make the most of the trip, although Shanghai is a major international hub its very Chinese once you get out of the centre i.e. where you will need to live.

Id rather conference call than have to attend them in person, currently in Changhi airport waiting for the 0120 red eye to HKG, then land, a couple of hours sleep then 11, 1230 and 1400 meetings which involve running around in 30 degree plus heat, suited up etc.
Give me Lync call, camera off, sitting in my jimjams with a mug of coffee and my feet up.

Been running mine since Feb 2014 and love it, in fact I am lucky enough to have enough disposable cash to buy new every year but this year opted not too im enjoying it so much.
Since I bought mine I have swapped the Float X for a CCDBAirCs and put some LB wheels on.
Came from an SB66c so found it a bit tough to do steep technical climbs but you soon adapt, going down is an absolute hoot.
The only issues I have found is the cable routing past the shock which needs care and a lot of frame protector stickers (inc the CCDBAir), the lack of somewhere to place a bottle and the BB/Chain-stay bearing area which can get ingress of dust and basically rub the frame, this is resolved by sticking a cut up inner tube over the bearing area!
Can never get Dropbox to work properly when traveling but lets give it a go…..

In the past I would happily go finance for bikes, especially if 0%, but now its a case of if you want it, save and then pay.
One issue I had with financing bikes, and more particularly cars, is that the asset gets devalued over time yet your payments stay the same and although no big issue at 0% and 6/12 months its just seems a bit off to me paying x amount for something every month that was rapidly decreasing in value.
Yes I know its nonsensical as you are still paying a set sum but just didn’t feel right, more so with cars though as for example you pay 500GBP a month for a nice new car and 5 years down the line your still paying that for something not worth 30% the original value.
At least with a house it should gain in value over time.

they all buggered off as soon as they had enough cash!

That’s why the airport is named after John Lennon, it’s the first place he went when he got some money.

Been using my 661 EVO AM since Christmas and getting on with the BOA ratchet system which really seems to secure the the helmet evenly.
Very comfortable for me but as mentioned above, best go in and try some on first, then decide which color you like.

For van use it would be useful, even more if free, our local driver uses those small interlinking floor mats which are OK but prone to move when driving.

yet when similar cartoons mocking the jewish faith are produced, they are labelled anti semitic and the publishers punished.

There is a very effective Jewish Lobby that is well co-ordinated and quick to react, the same doesn’t exist in the Islamic world

The Islamic world does react but they tend not to use the due legal process

    Dump her. Now.

I dated a girl in a similar situation once, turns out on inspection of her credit card bills, and her expectation on eveything being shared in a relationship, that all was not what it seemed.
I soon saw the light, then my cloths, then the door, then the car etc etc

All my work shirts and suits are bespoke, typically I go in directly to the tailors but a buddy I ride with works at MyTailor.com and I have bought some trousers off them, very good quality though a little pricey compared with others in HK.
Usually for a walk in with a reputable tailor here I would expect to pay around 80GBP for 3 shirts.
I did find a local Chinese outfit in Central that knocked out a good cotton suit and spare trousers for 100 GBP once, still got them after 5 years and they do repairs for free.

I wear them in summer as it gets a tadge hot walking the streets of Hong Kong, its better that people see my vest outline than the massive wet stain that results in me running between meetings 100% humidity.

Did a Triggers Broom with my old SB66c, even going as far as changing the frame (crash replacement, different color scheme), every single component from seatpost clamp to the drive train (XT 2×10-XT 1×10-XX1) was changed over a 12 month period.
When I sold it I realised I had probably spent enough to buy 2 of the same bikes, did I learn my lesson, did I hell.

If you’ve got a UK passport, then cough up your whack or hand over your passport.

Does this also include all non-domiciled British passport holders who pay local taxes in the country they currently live in, or are you proposing that the vast majority of the British who live abroad (i.e. who are not LH rich) pay 2 sets of taxes?

+1 for LB, have a set of 30mm AM’s (bought built, DTSwiss spokes, Hope Pro2 hubs = 1.61kg total) and they seem to handle the rock gardens of SE Asia well enough, cheap also.

Njee, Bikes and most parts tend to be 30% cheaper in HK than the UK, I couldn’t afford a Mach6 (or the bikes before that) if I still lived and worked in the UK!

    Njee, I paid 7k HK$ for the LB’s, ENVE’s would cost me around 18k HK$.
That works out around 610GBP/1570GBP, not exactly 40% but close.

Took the plunge last month on the 30mm wide 650B AM wheelset with Pro2 hubs/DT Swiss spokes to replace my existing DT Swiss XM1501’s.
Managed to get a few km’s of local riding on them before flying to Chiang Mei and knocking out over 100km of DH trails there over 3 days, apart from one massive burp when running through a rocky piece of trail they were excellent.
The only thing I found though was, with an already stiff carbon bike from and handlebars, the first day was a little tough on the arms.

For the money paid, and being around 40% the price of the equivalent ENVE wheels here, they are a bargain.

Just came back from a long weekend in Thailand, spending 5 days up in Chiang Mei mountain biking. If your up near Chiang Mei and would like to try some riding get in contact with X-Biking but be warned that rainy season is coming up.
Back again next week for a wedding down in Phuket, there are some advantages in being a couple of hours flight away!

4 days of great fun in Chiang Mei (Thailand) with X-Biking, doing runs down Gee’s, ATV and Bamboo, long dusty trails in 39 degree heat, just what the doctor ordered.

I think there are a million threads on them here, but to repeat:
Great shoes, a little stiff for really long rides but that can be fixed with changing the insoles, I use the Specialized ones designed for flat feet.
Hard wearing, good build quality, incredible grip for hike a bike sessions, don’t get too sweaty in hot weather (I ride in SE Asia where it does get hot) and they even make black ones for those not keen on the bright yellow.
Cant really comment one what they are like in cold wet weather though, sure someone will be able to help there?
Use mine in rotation with some Shimano 200’s which are also good though a little to stiff for me on epic rides (5 hours plus).

So…how come time and time again I’m reading that the Bronson just isn’t great?

The handful of owners I know love theirs, and one of them is a regular on the KOM list here with his. The only complaints I have seen is the bottom pivot design seems to be prone to getting smashed up if you ride very rocky trails (had that with my TRc also).
