Just started with mine but enjoying it, not ridden a HT in years so cant comment on the rear end stiffness, just know its a different feel to my other bike a Mach6.
I imagine with carbon rims the dead feel will be worse?

Bali, sorry no particular trail, its looked good on the brochures and magazine articles but I found it all a bit dull, lots on so so singletrack, the views were spectacular at times but the riding just was not long, technical or flowy enough to make it feel worthwhile.

In fairness I suspect this was the guides fault so happy to go again if sponsored.

Judging by the firebombing results prior to this it would seem almost morally right to use nucluer weapons, they appear to have caused less deaths and with only one plane involved the environmental damage caused by their gas hungry engines was minimalised, there, everyone’s happy.

On a more sensible note +1 Bloodynora

Its a celebration of the end of conflict, if it was a celebration of the start I would feel a lot different.

Gone steel, mainly as I wanted a cheap HT run about, not ridden one in a while but getting to like it.
Couldn’t justify the Ti cost, don’t think I am missing anything…other than my reflection.

Woodster, so far, of all the 30KM I have ridden it, its been faultless, nice smooth gear changes though it will take a while to get used to the different ratios though shouldn’t take too long.
Big tires, using 30mm wide LB rims and have opted for 2.4 Ardent front and 2.2 Ikons at the back, never used this combo before but they should be fine for the mix of trail & concrete paths they will be mostly used on.

I feel a little reassured that he was struggling to keep his breath, admittedly I would have been there about 12 minutes before.

I always remember being at a friends parents BBQ many years ago and I was introduced by said parent to one of their friend who,on hearing what I did, exclaimed their son also worked in computers.

I have everything except the wheels for a new bike build, the ironic thing is they are coming from the closest place (China, I am in Hong Kong), everything else has turned up a week before, most of which came from the UK.

My new N+1 build is nearly ready but the carbon wheels seem to be taking an eternity to turn up, 6 days and counting……..

Been getting bad rashes from my RF knee pads recently only after about 5 hours of riding, will try the chamois cream option and see if that helps.

Have the new XT groupset waiting at my LBS for me to turn up with my frame (Stanton Switchback) and my LB wheels when they finally show up, all reports so far seem good so looking forward to giving it a go.

Incidentally, paying 5800 HKD (around 480 GBP) for the groupset for reference, which I don’t think is to bad for the complete 1×11 drive train and brakes inc fitting.

Typically when I have run over them, not intentionally but it does happen, you just tend to go straight over and they don’t get tied up in anything, you rarely even feel it.

Just ordered my first ever n+1, well the frame anyway, a Stanton Switchback.
Once that’s built and up an running I may then look to swap out bits from my Mach6 to one of those Liteville 601 frames as well.

That should cover my for fun local riding and shuttley stuff/bike park holidays.

Lets hope the wife doesn’t interfere with my plans 🙂

Currently just a Mach6 but since I have beefed up the suspension to 170mm Fox 36’s I finding XC and long exercise climbs a chore so am now contemplating going N+1 with a hardtail.

Has anybody had full wheels with hope hubs off them?

Likewise, my local LBS swear they are copies based on the internals, and it being a Hong Kong LBS I’m sure they have seen this before, but they seem to be holding up well so far.

Do you know why we are a society that is largely fair and free from corruption?

I suspect that it is largely because not only do we have laws in place but by and large, they are also seen to be used and are available to all.
Yes there are miscarriages of justice, yes some people are persecuted due to color or beliefs, sadly these do happen but as a rule things do get corrected over time.
As a rule the UK is a nice place to live and I speak as someone who voluntarily left a few years back.

If there was a revolution I suspect it would be more about migration and shifting demographics than purely standards of living.
As has been pointed out by more erudite people than me, the UK is actually not a bad place to live, it has rule of law, a large comfortable middle class, low levels of crime and corruption and is largely a society that is fair and equal to all.
The fact that a small minority seek to point it in another light is more to do with their own viewpoint than the actual reality, if it was half as bad as some make out why on earth would we have increases to the net population via migration year after year?

I use it all the time and so do most of the people I ride with.
As a middle aged man I use it as a tool to track my performance and to give me a little push on my solo rides.
I do ride with guys who regularly KOM or are usually in the top 10 of most of my local trails so I long gave up trying to be competitive with it, however if I can sneak into the odd top 10 or be quicker than someone I know then its all good fun 🙂

Just done some work on my UK rental house after it had been rented out continuously for 5 years and it worked out:
Roof (new membrane and replacing/resitting tiles) 3k
All rooms repainted (3 beds, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and hallway) – 1.5k
New fusebox/electrical work to meet current standards – 1.5k
Fireplace renovation, installing new electric fireplace – 0.5k
    New carpets (3 bedrooms & Lounge) – 1k
    New Kitchen flooring – 0.5k
Cleaning out the garage/gardens (and other small odd job stuff) – 0.5k

Lucky to have two friends to do most of the work, who I paid the going rate to, or project manage the pro’s bought in.
A house is an investment, whether you live in it or rent it out, so its worth putting some effort in to keep it in good condition, specifically the rook, water and electrical parts.

    +1 for Sombrio
+1 for mid range Shimano, especially the SPD pedals
My Pivot Mach6 (cheap in HK minus all those taxes), just keeps on giving, utterly dependable and means I only need one bike for most of what I ride.

Bike clothing is starting to get ridiculous, when did it become normal for baggies to be above 50GBP?
Add to that any clothing from a Scandinavian brand, be it Sweet Protection or POC.
SC Nomads, sure they are nice looking and very capable, but what are you paying for, it cant be the race pedigree (not inc DH obviously)?

Had my LB’s since April and they have held up well to the rocky riding here in HK and the Chiang Mai DH trails.
Only thing I would say is be a bit careful about their complete builds, my local LBS are convinced they are hooky Hope hubs although TBF they seem to be holding up OK.
Mavic is the French for cheese or at least from my experience it is.
