Thanks to Chinese New Year I managed to get Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday rides in last week.

There was no snow though Saturday was damp and misty, had to wear a layer for the first two runs.

Run an Evoc Enduro 16L for my longer rides and where there is going to be a lot of descending. Cannot fault it, good build quality, carries enough for a good days riding and fits securely.

All these tales of people treating you differently for not being English, doesn’t that make them xenophobic or is that OK if its just against the English?

I have always considered myself English rather than British but its not something that I think defines me, just somewhere where I was born.
One thing I have always wanted to know though, does every Scottish pub have a local called Tommy who is an expert on the national team and gets rather feisty after a few ales, like every pub in England seems to have a ‘jock’ character?

All my recent bikes have been carbon & XX1/XTR equipped (TRc, SB66 & Mach6) but I wouldn’t call them superbikes, just expensive.
Now riding a couple of lumps of steel/alloy (a 601 & a Switchback) which are both considerably cheaper than what went before them, the major difference, they are slightly heavier, that’s all I have noticed.

The Happy Mondays, walked out before the end and never really bothered listening to their stuff again, in fairness it was the reunion tour and they all looked like that this was just to get one more mortgage payment done before calling it quits.

Hong Kong taxation makes minimal difference to my salary, its very low rate.

I’m trying to persuade my company that a slowdown in business means its more practical for me to go to a 4 day week for a short while. Although it means a 20% reduction it salary it also means I get more time available during peak riding season…of course my first thoughts are for the company.
