The Syntace is almost exactly it but the drop is not so severe. Are they available in different angles?

No, but different lengths from 44mm to 111mm.
    Here’s the 44:

We’ve just had a letter from the Councillor for the town, who’s been in touch with the police, to say that it is OK to go and collect the stuff.
Straight there, load up, straight back..no stops on the way.

nothing picked up in the survey

I’d be tempted to go back to your surveyor and see what he says. The CEDR process is free, you just have to follow the process.
If you want any info drop me a PM..

Was this picked up on the survey?
We had similar with our new house when we found asbestos in the fascia boards, soffits etc when work started on replacing them (scaffold up etc).
Contacted the surveyor who had specifically mentioned the boards etc needed looking at but stated in his report that the did not appear to be asbestos content.
    Long story short..
Went thought a formal process with CEDR and, due to him missing the asbestos, got all costs back including scaffold alterations/removal & disposal etc and 25% of the survey fee. All very easy to do and would recommend it if you think you might have a case.

The surveyor tried to say that the asbestos had been painted to cover it but we had photos from our initial viewing that clearly showed (what we later found out to be) asbestos.

What about liteville full suspension frames

I’d agree but then I’m biased.
Just straight tubes, no silly bends or curves. Seat-stays & top tube near-parallel which looks good. No ‘shouty’ paint job..just right!

    You could try Allcap: http://allcap.co.uk/
We use them a lot for work and seem to have many unusual items.

If it cost £1k for 18 months that’s only £55/month. Pretty cheap..
If you’re happy with the car and it’s not showing signs of any major niggles I’d be tempted to get it done.
Sometimes it’s better the devil you know.
Nothing to say that a newer £2k car won’t blow up in a similar manner somewhere down the road.

Thanks JAG. Nice, simple explanation 👍🏼
Looks like I may have not set the cable up properly and replacing the clutch pads sounds like a good (and cheap) way to go.

It was a joy to use whilst it worked..cut so well. Just want to get it running right as there’s something about an old mower.

Good point Tom, not up on SRAM so just giving the Shimano options..

    stevied

Depends on the rear hub as to what you can do.
If it’s a standard Shimano hub you can go 11 speed and to change to 12 speed would need a microspline freehub. A lot of hubs are now changeable though but just depends on what you have currently.
I’m guessing, as it’s Shimano now, this ill be the case so would just be a case of picking what level you want to go to.
You’d need, minimum, rear mech/shifter/chain/cassette and a single ring for the front.
Looking at the spec the cranks are 104mm BCD so that’s the ring you’d need to get.

edit: looking at the wheels I’d say you wouldn’t be able to go 12 speed so 11 would be the way to go unless you can get a SRAM freehub then that opens up the SRAM options.

XTR shifter, XT mech, GX cassette and GX chain ordered.

Is it 12 speed? If so you’ll not benefit from the Hyperglide+ on the cassette & chain.
Shifting on my 12sp XT (mech/shifter/chain & cassette) is the best shifting I’ve ever had. Really smooth, especially when shifting under power.

Have they not tried a gigantical magnifying glass yet? You can burn the shit out of all sorts of stuff with a little bit of sunshine…cheaper too I’d imagine 🔎

Maybe offer to do the security with your gun?

    Suntour XC-Pro groupset.
Had a Raleigh Avanti in c1987, with Deore XT , which got stolen. Then managed to get a Team Dynatech Pro (the one the team actually rode) which had the Suntour XC Pro groupset, it was a revelation compared to the Shimano.

Just to balance things out, I’m in England and it is also dry here.
Planted out a new border recently thinking we’d get some rain but no, not a drop.

Based on the number of replies should STW move the office to Scotland?

To get the best out of the Hyperglide+ you need the Shimano chain too. Others will work but not quite as well as the Shimano one.
I’ve got XT 12sp with a Snaggletooth chainring and all works very well.

I don’t see a trip to the waste recycling centre on the list of permitted reasons to leave the house.

It wasn’t my reason for leaving the house, I drive past it on my way home from work (can’t fit 3 machining centres in my shed so have to go to work).

the persistent closure of the council waste recycling facility

Ours opened on Monday, 5 minute queue to get in but I think I just timed it right as they were backing up pretty badly when I came out..

Ran my Liteville as a 27.5/26 for ages and really liked it.
Only really changed as it was a pain sourcing the 26″ tyres I liked and got a great deal on a pair of 27.5’s.

Hardly anyone had mentioned what they are growing.

I’ve been given loads of plants by my grandfather and mother-in-law so I’ve just been planting what I’ve got. Will move stuff around as and when I need to.
    Currently have:

    Existing plants:
    Willow tree
    Photinia Red Robin
    Forsythia
    Magnolia Star Wars

    New additions:
    Hibiscus
    Random Rose
    Fuscia
A few ribbon grass (Phalaris arundinacea)
    Crocosmia Lucifer
    Gladioli
    Acer Summer Gold
    A couple of Hydrangea
    Trailing Clematis
