OK, will do some measurement and monitor it.

Find your house on here, and tell me what the soil is:

Superficial deposits: Head – Clay, silt, sand and gravel. Sedimentary superficial deposit formed between 2.588 million years ago and the present during the Quaternary period.

    More information

Bedrock geology: Sidmouth Mudstone Formation – Mudstone. Sedimentary bedrock formed between 250 and 228.4 million years ago during the Triassic period.

Was the ground floor opening into the conservatory made larger?
Were the origional windows Crittall type?
Is the crack wider nearer the ceiling?

    Don’t know
    Don’t know

When you say its developed, over how long? any external influence e.g. work in the garden, trees, change of drainage etc?

Probably 12 months. No major garden work etc.

Any issues opening or closing the window?

    No, both open fine.

    How old is the conservatory?

At least 10 years old I think..

    It’s this window: window
Gutters replaced last year but no obvious signs of water getting in anywhere. No obvious cracks on the outside or bricks out of place..
Also had the fascia boards/soffits etc replaced last year.

    is it a refurb?

They all say refurb but 12 month guarantee and free returns if no good.
Thought it made more sense to spend a bit less just in case coffee making isn’t for me ;-)

Next thread needs to be Best Coffee Suppliers

    Probably 🤣

Picked up a City Jet as in stock at local H.
Seemed OK on the 1st try yesterday so, if I stick with it, can get a proper tyre once this one wears out.

Did a quick, 35 min session, yesterday once I’d got the bike set up.
20mph, cadence around 80-90 and about 240 watts.

Will have to use my phone to start with as don’t have wifi in the shed or a working laptop 🙄

Or is it an older version ?

Yep, the older one with the small computer on it.

Had a few pairs of Mavic on the older XT platform SPD’s.
No problem at all, nice fit, reasonably stiff and good for walking in too.
Pedals have been great but I’m going the opposite way and giving flats a go after 20 odd years on SPD’s

We’ve got 3 TP Kasa smart bulbs (off Amazon), really easy to set-up and use via the app.
Basically have the lounge/dining room & hall lamps on a timer as I get up at 5.30am so nice to have the lights on ready now it’s a bit darker in the mornings :-)

Clocktower carpark on West Malvern Road.
Head South (and UP) from the car park at the rockface turn right..and UP! Pick a direction from the top.
    That’ll give you a taster..
If you want more ‘off piste’ head to the other, British Camp, end.

Well, turns out that the Japanese sword may be over 400 years old 😲
Needs some more investigative work but potentially from the Muromachi period, approximately 1336 to 1573

I don’t think it’ll be worth that much but it is a heavy cavalry sword, slightly older than that one.
The inscription on the Japanese sword translates to “The Moon between two pine trees looks like Two dragons fighting for a gem” which is rather nice.
I’ve found a forum for Japanese stuff so getting some info from the guys on there.

Have a look around for a Carrera Blast or similar.
I got one for my daughter for £50 and spent a bit on upgrades/weight reduction.
Great little bikes, not too heavy and easy to upgrade.

Managed to get the handle off the katana but can’t see any inscriptions :-(
Found a forum for these swords so, hopefully, find out something about it.
    Here’s some pics of both:

The katana ‘feels’ old. Doesn’t look like cheap tat, just old and a bit knackered..

Cutwel that supply a range of digital calipers named Insize.

Tried a few of their bits here but find they lack in refinement. OK for general stuff though..

Made the switch a few weeks ago to see how I get on.
1st couple of rides were interesting but seems to be getting easier every ride and I’m planning on sticking with them for a while.
    No shin-pin interaction yet…
