Did some looking around and got better cover for £340 :-) including £4k bike and a couple of other named valuables..

I’m at the bargain end for my kids. Last one was a Carrera Blast 20″ for £60 off FB, she’s now outgrown so picked up a tatty 24″ Abyss for £15! New wheels, gears & paint job it’ll cost me about £120 all in.
They outgrown them too fast to spend loads and they get handed down to #2 and it doesn’t feel like #1 gets a new bike all the time.

I love gardening and the kids are starting to show an interest too. Win-win!
Can’t beat a well edged & mown lawn with plenty of stuff popping up. Did a new border last year during lockdown and couldn’t remember all the things I put in there…it’s a bit like slow-Christmas.
Got plenty of bird feeders out too and they’re getting more friendly and tend to stick around when I’m out there…so I whistle to them then translate their response to the kids..they think I’m Dr Dolittle 😆

My daughters would love the unicorns 🤣
When we bough it there was loads of ivy and conifers covering it, looked really bad. Looks beyond repair to me:

What’s wrong with the wall that’s there?

It’s starting to crumble in quite a few places..and, generally, looks knackered.

Some of the joints were a bit tough, cutting the oak with a hand saw. Pretty pleased with the results:
    join1
    join2
It was a big job and shifting the sleepers alone was hard but well worth it I think. Got some heavy duty 90° and 135° brackets off eBay to reinforce the joints.

Did ours last year with oak sleepers. Long side down onto gravel, joined and screwed together. It’s rock solid :-)
The bit with the gravel is just 3×2 as we’re doing the patio this year and will have edging stones along that section.

Picked up a DeLonghi bean-to-cup off their eBay page. Refurbished, 12 month warranty – all good. Saved about £250 off the new one.
No issues with beans ‘going off’ and I normally top them up once a week from a 1kg bag of Lavazza.

I’ve started to get back into golf as my riding group are now all on ebikes except me.
Thought I would have a go at making a putter. Just need to fit the shaft & grip and can take it for a spin..

Is it really £2.50 difference? Looking on RM and postage with ‘signed for’ is about £1 more.
If it were me I’d go with the cheapest (maybe even Packlink) postage and get a signature.
He’s paid for 2nd class so maybe go 2nd class with signature.
I sense a ‘did not arrive’ claim if not..

Smudge @ MTB Batteries does a bottle battery. Had one for years, really well put together.
I’m now using one of his batteries in a bag which straps under my top-tube.
