I was stung with an 807 pug.

I would not drive another peugeot even if it was given to me.

    Long live the Kia.

To be fair to Renault i have a clio and its been a fab little car, close to 70mpg, 700mile to the tank and so cheap to run.

I think the french do very good small cars but anything bigger than Megan size forget it.

Just never use their dealers to fix anything.

I just bought a Kia Sedona.

Utterly fed up with french 5hiter family cars.

3 friends all have the big Kia and love it.

The Espace seems to be the worse.

ilovemygears i dont think Halfords will be stocking them, i also dont think anyone in the market for one would buy from Halfords.

These Boardman bikes really are exeptional value for money.

Im so glad im not a bike snob so i can buy one when i fancy a new road bike, i pity all those who wont be seen dead on one.

I hate paying the licence fee but i do love most of what the BBC do. I guess it the same for most where we really just hate paying for things.

I would rather it was not compulsory and had the choice same as Sky, it would make me feel a bit less under the control of the state then.

How about a BBC HD pay to view sport channel, sounds good to me. As long as they dont put football on it cause its sh*te.

When you can buy a decent hub for £20 who cares about repaiability, the time effor and energy to make it repairable and to actually repair it is pointless.

I dont know what kind of mileages people do on hear but i have a set of campag chorus hubs which are 18 years old and have never been stripped down and have do i would think about 5000 miles between me and my dad (who now uses the bike)

I used to always strip my old hubs when i was 15 and clean and re grease, for fun not because they needed it, i had the time because i didnt have a wife, kids and a life outside bikes, now i have all i want to do is ride.

Fookin chill about the hubs please.

p.s. Shimano is the best :D

I think they are meaning 36 to 32 is 4 spokes less, you have saved 8lbs heance 2lb per spoke!!!

Anyone 6 fot and over shoud ride a 29er and leave the normal size bikes for us no freaks.

I would have thought that the 19″ would be a better option, you will prob need a heck of a long seat post with a 17″

I agree with Rob, i think the ‘draggy’ issue is an urban myth thats spouted out on internet forums mostly by people who do not use them.

No doubt there is a bit more friction but what differnece it makes is probably bugger all, unless you are ridding 100miles time trials.

For most people who commute or do a leasuly 20/30mile run the **0.2% reduction in efficency is obviously meaningless.

    ** my guess not Shimanos.

Wow some people need to chill a bit on here.

BTW Why would you se anything other than Shimano?

Apart from my brakes which are Hayes, oops :D

Maybe i should drop to 45psi next time out and see how i get on.

Im using 2.2 Mountain Kings, i guess iv been lucky as its not been that wet over the past few months. so i guess ridding with too high a pressure would not be as big an issue.

Anyway i need all the help i can get with low rolling resistance.

You all must be about 3 stone

Its our money, not mine, even tho its me who earns it. Sometimes i find i hard to get my head round it even after 13 years, it its the correct way. But sometimes in my weakness i make a few small purchases that i would rather not trot out for all to see. Thats my way of dealing with it. I would be really surprised if most married couples didnt operate something like this in some capacity.

Thanks, eating while out os probably something i should be looking at. i usually stick some dilute jucie in the bottle and get what i can from from that, probalby need something more.

Did 25miles on Friday and 23 yesterday, but was knackered, it seems that time definatly slows down how fast you can recover. I really need 1 to 2 days between cycles whuch 10 years ago i just didnt need.

I guess the winter will really be the tester, trying to still get out when its cold and raining.

Your right its a hard balance to increase workrate while trying to loose weight.

I made the amature mistake last week of leaving the recipt in the box that some ‘bits’ came in from CRC. Fortunatly it was only £40, hope she doesnt see the recipt for the XTR trail pedals i have on the 805!!!

loosing 3 stone over 3 months is very impressive, i dindt expect to loose all the weight but i was hoping for a bit more.
Just to clarify im 14mph over 30miles on the road not off road, the longest trail i have done is Dalbeatie, and i think i averaged 7mph!

Off road about 20km os about my limit before i really start feeling knackered.

I just feel i have gone backwards over the past month, even tho i have actually increased the amount of riding i am doing.

I try and always ride with someone off road, i feel like a fish out of water when on the trails so i like the support/advice from others.

Not so easy on the road trying to organise riding partners, but your right, might be worth looking at joing a club and forcing the pace a bit, just dont want to have a heart attack.

****, i must be running mine too high, i was told just pump your tyres up hard, i run mine probably close to 60psi.

Next outing i will droop them down to 50psi and see how i get on. I would rather have a bit too much pressure than get punctures.

I have an alfine 8 with 26″ wheels no sus, use it on the road, its just about all you need for on road, if money is no option then i would prob go for the 11 for the extra low range.

Cant say i ever want sus forks on it just more weight to lug about.

I always try and stay on the bike and make sure i have insurance, its worked for me to avoid a ‘streetfighter’ over the past 20 years.

I love my Alfine 8. I have mine on a Saracen pylon 8 frame with mavic rims and kojak tyres.

Its a great combination for the road, im not as thin as i used to be so i find the bike a bit more comfy to ride. Absolutly no issues with the Alfine hub, i think i get more drag from the disk brakes than the hub.

I use the bike to get out on the road for 20-30 mile runs so couldnt care less about the last few % of efficency.
on the road the 8 speed is fine, all the greas you need. I run out of leg speed at about 25mph which is about where most people are better off just getting in a tuck downhill anyway, on the flat i cant push top gear anyway.

If i was touring i would like a slightly lower gear and the 11 speed would fit that bill better.

Gear chainging is perfect on mine, no issues and being able to change while not pedelling is very handy.

I have a flat bar race bike with a triple chainset and i much prefer riding the Alfine bike, its not quite as fast but just a nicer ride for me anyway.

I would definatly consider an upgrade to the 11 if i could get one at a decent price, right now they are just a bit out of reach.

Streetfighter read heap thats been crashed so many times without insurance the owner couldnt afford to sort it properly.

    Not nice.

Why do we allow cars and bikes et al to do more than 70mph in this counrty?

Nice barnsley now thats really grown up. At least you are showing your true colours now for others to see. Well done.

If thats the case thepurst then it might not be too bad, but to be honest in another few years the BBC will ditch it and the whole lot will be on Sky, so we are defering the inevitable.

Small glimer of hope mind thanks. :-)
