Well it looks to me like the course could do with some attention, not that it had anything to do with low turnout. I know a biker who live les than 5 miles from drum who didn’t know anything about it! Seems to me Rik needs a media expert on board.

My Kronolog has been fab so far. Nice bit of kit, seems very simple, so can’t be much to go wrong.

They must be installed properly with free play in the cable, 5mm min.

Also make sure you have enough post sticking up, if you have a large frame and not much post sticking up then it might not go low enough for you, same as most droppers I suppose, something I hadn’t really thought about and luckily I have 10mm to spare!

Was round the drum today, it’s pretty wet, hope it dries for you all.

Also very overgrown in places, how about someone taking a few gallons of roundup and a napsack sprayer. Along the tails, I know I’m a poof but there are only so many nettle stings I can take.

I managed 16 rides in May and 15 in April. Well it a grand total of 7 in June. If it was easy to move to another sunny country I doubt there would be many left.

At least I have 7 weeks holiday starting. Happy days.

Cathkin Braes, lovely, just dont expect your car to be in 1 piece when you get back from your ride. Or to actually make it round the full course without getting mugged at knife point for your £3k bike.

Looked perfect right up till I read “this item is not waterproof”

Whata shame, it looked like such a great little camera, mind at that price it might be worth a punt, try and waterproof it yourself.

The map on the Edge is more than good enough for road riding, and probably fine for the vast majority of iff roaders. The route is easy to follow and it lets you know pretty fast when you are off course.

For me its the best bit of kit i have ever bought for my bike, perhaps with the exeption of clipless pedals.

One you do the 2 day TCL course you can do the mountain bike leader one, a bit more in depth looking at taking parties away overnight and further into the wilderness.

I see the Englanders managed a draw, bravo well done. You must have played you hearts out to achieve it.

Seems to have gone very quiet on here, lols.

I would rather have better spec components and ali/steel frame rather than carbon and cheaper components

Really, so what bikes have better components at the same price? Let alone a CF frame.

    Probably better than yours.

No question they have at least stepped up. To the mark in this tour.

Anyone who watched the 6 N would have agreeded Scotlands results did not reflect their play, not by a long shot.

We have a hard autum test befor the 6N so let’s get that out of the way first, 2 out of 3 would do me in that!

It does show the breadcrumb trail, which works a lot better than you might imagine.

I can’t praise the Garmin highly enough, it’s so much fun.

Totally agree about the schwalbes, they are trail centre tyres, great for hard pack. Did a section of the southern up
And last week and the tyres were not great, but saying that they were still better than I expected. Wet rocks and thick mud do not mix with the RR. I quite like the look of the conti 29er tyres, more like NN that RR.

GT85 been using it for 25 years, simply the best. It does the single most important thing, that’s driving out the moisture after you have cleaned the chain properly. Also gives it some lube. Cheap and works perfectly.

Best thing I have ever bought. Love it, right up till I smashed it 5 weeks ago! Still waiting for garment to replace it, if I thought I could get it for £70 I would just have bought a new one!

I have a Roldan TD-12 and a Tama Starclassic Maple Custom.

Both have their place, as a beginer the basic Roland HD1 is fun, but its not like a really kit, you have to go up to the TD-9 to get something decent both in sound and playing performance.

The benifits of controling the sound cannont be underestimated, an acoustic kit is loud, there is no getting round it unless you build a nuclear bunker to play in.

Look for a second hand acoustice kit, you should get somwthing decent for £400 with all the bits you need to get started, but if you think soundproofing and noise is an issue then go for the Roland.

Your never to old to learn to play, go for it.
