That’s what the “opposition party” is for. See, the idea is that the party who gets the most votes across the whole of the voting population gets the most

Funniest thing I have read on here for a long time.

It’s been brill, will not know what to watch when it’s over. 2hrs coverage per night would be nice.

Unions need to step up to the mark, as do their membership.

Everything has been too easy for too long.

Someone has to hold the government to account if we don’t then we will get shat on big time. They will always do the best for their rich cronie mates.

SRAM are very good, they should sort it quickly for you. I bought a new set of SID off eBay that were faulty didn’t bother with the seller just. Sent them to SRAM, sorted in a week. If ever there was a reason to stick with rock shox then that’s it.

andypaul99 – – would be fairly easy to get sub 24lbs without too much effort..

    POSTED 2 DAYS AGO # REPORT-POST

    Really!

I suppose if you have enough money, but new I would think you are well into £2k to get a sub 24lb bike.

My reaction 29 + a set of crest wheels + carbon post stem and bars might do it. But the performance might start to suffer as a result.

25lbs is a good target for a mountain bike and is by no means heavy.

Funny I was thinking of this today, I. Did a 50 mile road ride, with a few stops. But the ride time was not that much less than the moving ie, and I was stopped for at lest 10 mins.

Tell you what, I have really enjoyed the vaulta, shame there is not slightly longer coverage, a 2 hr slot would be nice. Maybe next year.

Been some great roads so far, it’s amazing how different to feels from the tdf.

    Renton.

Weigh yourself once a week, same time same scales. Record the weight, don’t lie don’t skip.

SORT out your eating. It’s all about the pies Renton. Cut out the treats, sugar mainly. Eat whole grains etc.

As for exercise why not just try walking, 3 mile walk every morning 7 days a week, keep that up even when you get back, but stick to it. It’s not high impact so you should be fine with it.

Give yourself time to loose the weight and adjust to your new eating, well over a year. You should be targeting 15stone or less at your height.

Why do they make bike for anyone over 6’4″. You should be playing basketball or be in a circus.

Spokeswill last much longer than that assuming the spoke haven’t been badly stretched in a crash then they will be fine.

Older spokes will probably break while tensioning if they are going to go. I still have a pair of wheels that are in great shape after 20 years, must have at least 5000 miles on them, probably a dam site more.

What is annoying is that the cafe does not open late at any time. You would think that a Friday night they would stay open for a few hrs more. There must be folk going up straight from work who would murder a cuppa and something at that time.

Spinning is more efficient but out of the saddle in a bigger gear is faster. You generate more power out of the saddle than you do in the saddle.

Hence why keeping a high cadence is the best way. You lift you heart rate too much to do extended climbing out the saddle in a high gear, in the end staying in the saddle using a gear you can spin is faster over a long climb. Might not be too good for the bottom mind.

Tried to watch Through the mill, but fell asleep after about a minute.

Danny pushes the limits and that’s what I want to see in that kind of riding. When I watch him I think he has sold his soul to aquire those skills. Akrigg does nothing special.

I can’t see you been much slower in that bike.

I have a 26″ wheeler with hub gear that weighs 30+ lbs as a winter bike. I’m probable no more that 3 mph slower over a 30 mile ride, less on shorter rides.

The difference a bike and gearing makes is not really that much.

If you like the bike just go off it, and it looks very nice too. Probably will have a comfy ride, which actually might help you ride further and faster, just make sure you et the right size and set it up correctly.

Funny I don’t see any retired older pros running up to stake a claim for 1 of the 7 tdf titles. Bottom lime is the LA won them, and he was the best in that era. I’m not sure you would find many who were riding with him to say otherwise.

    stevewhyte

No it isn’t. (Steep) hill climbing is about power to weight ratios.
On the flat it’s about power.

Funny last time I rode on the road it was far from flat.

I think you will find zero, I say again zero fat pro cyclists. Minimal body fat. Cycling is all about reducing weight, it’s the one single thing any of us average rides can do to get better, no amount of doing150kg squats will make as much of a difference.

You talk like you don’t ride a bike.

Cycling is all about power to weight. Clearly you will have an optimum p/w ratio. It’s probably with your bodyfat closer to 10% that 20% mind.

For most non professional riders, a b/f of under15% is more that sufficient. You may still be around that dispite the additional lbs.

Once you are over 20% then no amount of extra power will make up for it.
