I dive, ride ,skydive (wingsuits) and ski. I agree with the reactive (mtb) considered (scuba) comments above and also trying not to die. The only crossover  is they’re all fun for me.

1)Do as many as you can in close succession, developing muscle memory, confidence and time at the DZ learning from the right people will help.

2)Currency is key, especially when starting out, the more jumps you do early will help with developing experience, it matters a little later onless 200 / 300 jumps but is still really matters.

    3) Be prepared to sit around alot waiting for the right weather and conditions. If you think mtb is expensive, welcome to skydiving, lol.

1500 jumps under my belt, I’m still new and don’t listen to anyone other than an instructor or other responsible person.

I’m on my second ebb. I was pretty anti ebikes having ridden mtbs for 25 years or so and completed lots of endurance events. Just train more, if you want it easier, is what I thought.

Then I tried one and it was like being 25 again. For me the best bits have been my Mrs, hated the effort of mtb but got an ebb and now we ride together weekly and have had some great mtb holidays. I also caught a light dose of cancer last year, which needed a bit of chemo. I rode every weekend during chemo, which would have been impossible on a regular bike. I can also ride with my mates on ebbs on a Saturday and be good to go again Sunday with the Mrs. I still feel like a cheat occasionally but for me emtbs have opened things up for me and I’m have much more fun

Felt a bit rough on the lead up to my wedding last September, put it down to being stressed getting finished at work. The wedding was great as was the first 3 days in Madeira. We managed 2 days great riding over day 2 and 3 then went for post ride beers, I then suddenly went from feeling rough to bang… worse flu like symptoms ever. Muscled through another day and half but then tried to get some antibiotics, 30 mins later I was in hospital with a weird rising infection. Spent the last 7 days in hospital, desperately trying to get discharged for my flight home. Came back to to a cancer diagnosis and multiple hospital trips. Poor Mrs has only had 3 good days out of me!

Reds at Dirt farm are all rollable, my Mrs prefers it to BPW and she wouldn’t look at the Reds there.
Blue into Red Dragon into Moto into Wild Wood is one of the funnest trials I’ve ridden and all rollable.

I think Grizedale is shut due to all the storm damage and unlikely to reopen anytime soon.

I’ve just had the exact same problem. I have 2019 11 spd YT Decoy and swapped out to 12spd, the original mech hanger didn’t provide the right clearance but I had a spare 2020 mech hanger and its slightly longer that did the job.

I can sleep in my Berlingo on the floor without sliding the seats all the way forward but I’m only 5’6. I did build a boot jump style platform for about £40 and that would give you enough space at 6ft to stretch out with the seats tilted forward.

I’ve got a Berlingo XTR 13 plate, it does everything you want in your post and pretty much what I use it for. Cheap to run, easy to drive, tons of room in the back and very practical, although not the prettiest car I’ve owned.

I just bought a 2mtr length of this Penny stud rubber matting. I cut out around the seat fittings on the floor with a Stanley knife. Took ten mins and fits from the rear into the foot well. Seats still fit.

Just finished my first BBQ on the Char Broil Gas2Coal 3 burner. Worked really well, put the charcoal on, lit the gas 20mins later it was good to go. The coals got an even heat and I got a good flavour on the food. Bit of a pain to put together intialy but very pleased with it so far.

Not sure about the engine but I’ve got a 13 plate Berlingo XTR. With the middle rear seat removed, I can get both E-MTB’s in, Vitus and a YT Decoy (29” front wheel). I can roll them in upright – no wheels removed, the rear wheels just sit between the front seats which hold them in place along with a strap at the front.
