Get a pitch you wont be disappointed I have just set mine up with an RP23 on the rear, dual air Revs up front, tubeless and 1×10 drivetrain. It now feels fantastic for general riding, climbs just as well as my mates camber but descends way better. If I start riding more gravity based stuff I’ll fit a coil and some Lyriks.

It all depends what you want out of your riding either way i’d budget for a new rear shock those Ario’s are naff

Are you talking abour the outer air sleeve?

If so remove the retaining C clip at the bottom and slide the outer sleeve off the main unit (you’ll have to give it a bit of a yank as there is a lip and it has two o rings). This then will allow you to unscrew the main body

Could you seriously be arsed with two dogs one that’ll be shitting and pissing everywhere while its being trained and one that barely moves? Wait till the dog ‘fails its MOT’ then wait a little bit, you never know she may not want another one.

Im definately not fit and I run 1×10 32 tooth front 11-36 rear and havent encountered any problems I mainly ride swinley, south downs etc but was up the peaks last week and did ok for the limited riding I did.

Great thing about 1×10 is the lack of faff and clutter :D

Great bike cant go wrong with it even in its stock form but –

Change the rear shock the ario is naff, RP23 standard can works a treat.

The Sektors are pretty good to be fair, might want to get hold of the motion control damper to add a bit of control, saying that ive just upgraded to Revs.

1 x 10 for me, no issues havent yet needed to get off and walk (running a 32 tooth upfront).

I reckon I’ll swap out the wheels next for some pro 2 & Arch/Flows followed by the brakes.

She’s got the team which is standard BB and QR rear – The biggest problem with the whole thing was the monarch rear shock blowing up!!! It was sent back to be rebuilt / repaired / replaced, Fishers decided that they would replace the rebound assembly (which was at fault) and sent it back 2 weeks later the seals on the can went (they hadnt been replaced!) Halfords gave her the shock from the pro to replace the faulty shock so ultimately it was the rockshox element that failed.

Other than that no real issues to highlight more if the geezer working in halfords is useless take it straight to a ‘proper’ bike to be setup

Wifes got a Fs Team (long story which includes bike to work) and although there have been ‘issues’ (which have been resolved fairly quickly which I think is down to the fact that the guy in my local halfords is actually useful and knows what he is talking about plus he is actually competant with a spanner) they are very good bikes. Comfortable for day long rides good for blasting local trails and capable on most stuff you’ll face in the Uk

Does anyone know if these work on the XV sleeve RP23’s?

Having just coverted to tubeless I had an interesting experience I didnt use C02 or the garage compressor just my trusty track pump, I didnt even use that much soapy water.

The problems definately where with the tyres I was using I’m running a standard dual ply minion dhf up front which went on and pumped up likeit had a tube in it.

I then tried three different tyres on the rear a dualply swampthing (brand new) – no hope nothing was getting it to seal an old spesh Eskar, again no hope.

Went and got a 2bliss ready Eskar went on with no issues again pumped up like it had a tube in.

Go figure, saying that it was probably just dum luck on my part! What tyres are you using?

Your not far from my old haunt and have loads of stuff near you. Aston hill in wendover is def worth visiting google it you won’t be disappointed. You have the chilterns 30min from you, Swinley 40 min Surrey hills an hour and ruislip woods for a quick blast mid week.

Spesh Eskars 2.3 2bliss all year round for me no probs what so ever. I ran a swampthing for a couple of rides and its great but not worth dragging about imho

I love top gear but found it a little dull tbh – the funniest bit was when they wired the horn to May’s brakes which says alot!

How did you pay? It is a bit odd, if the guy hadn’t been on the forum then I would say something may have happened but if he’s been on selling other stuff I’d be a little annoyed by now. A week is a perfectly reasonable time frame in my book any longer and I’d be reversing the transaction

11/36 with 32 upfront but im seriously unfit saying that I haven’t had to get off and walk yet

That’s wicked service and very impressive and to the glorious post about “specialized would have replaced it for free” they actually only give a 2 year warranty on the swing arms and linkages but have a lifetime warranty on the main frame.

£45 quid for a conversion kit £30 for a tyre ignoring the hicup with the rear, took me about hour to set it all up and seal all the leaks.

*Edit* thinking about it I spent more on Saturday night when I went for dinner with the missus

Oddly enough it does make a difference the bike feels livelier and a bit more playful when whiping through and powering out of turns. I probably havent lost more then 100g off the front (if that) and about 250g off the rear (includes change of cassette tho) and it just feels nicer.

Saying that though im probably making it all up

Started riding again after 10 years off and i’ve even got the missus into it too :D best thing I’ve ever done!

Riding wise had to be the week in Dartmoor and Exmoor the locals are very lucky

Mainly sram here x7 shifter / rear mech with slx block and some random 10 speed chain!

I like the fact that even with my level of complete and utter ineptness I am capable of installing and setting up the Sram kit although somone will probably point out that ive missed something now.

Runing Truvativ cranks which seem ok but will be removed once money permits.

cheers for the responses guys wasnt looking for advice more hoping to guide those who may be thinking about tubeless themselves but Ive got to say there some excellent advice and given me hope to have another go tonight after the pub

Out of interest who here is using the stans no tubes strips and has drilled their holes in the rim?

I got my lbs to order me the damper from the rev/reba which cost £89 quid I even spoke to tftuned and vaguely recall that they were the same or similar price.

IMHO Its a bit steep for what it is and I only got it because the wife was getting her bike from the shop on the bike to work scheme and it was an essential accessory

I’d speak to LoCo personally and get him to quote on a service with the dual rebound damper and the damper assembly. Failing that watch pinkbike and ebay as they come up everynow and then.
