Snapped my GX eagle mech in two last night. Stumbled across this thread and on inspection I have the non lipped jockey wheel. Chain slipped off top jockey, tangled and boom

Tollymore forest is on my back door step. Great place to ride and can take in Donard forest after(just a 10min pedal over the Moore).
Forestry has started felling trees due to larch disease wiping out a few trails.

I’d be happy to show you round the place. When are you over?

Also castlewellan is worth a visit for the natural trails.

But I was told they would be replacing it with a new frame or bike.
Again this was just an update on my progress

I’m only going by what Evans told me. Last week after an inspection they wherefore rreplacing the frame or bike. To this week not being covered. I understand that. My frustration is @ the poor communication.

And I was just riding along..

Would need to have been a big Boulder to do that though?
I sent the frame back to Evans at their request to see if I was eligible for a warranty claim.

Second pic is of non drive side. WHere the paint is starting to crack.

There has been no accidental damage. my frustration is at the fact I’ve been messed about for almost 5weeks being told different stories

    Quick update on warranty.

Spoke with a manager last Tuesday’ evening who assured me I’ll be getting a replacement frame or bike out of it and would call the following day to discuss options. Call never materialised. I phoned back on Thursday evening asking to speak with manager, again no call back.
Phoned today to get an update. They have replaced the seat clamp as they could not find bulge in seat tube.. Bearing in mind the problem is with the seat stay. They have since got back to me and now they will not be covering the frame under warranty.
    5weeks later.

Jameso apologies for the confusion. The bike was an online sale. The bike went back to Evans. They arranged courier, bike was lost for a week.

It was an online sale. I live in Northern Ireland and we have no Evans over here. Thanks for the advice robbo. It will now be Monday or Tuesday before they will be able to tell me anything..
I will not be buying another bike through Evans

Awaiting a call back all day I had to ring them myself only to be told the bike is still in the “assessment process” meaning they have yet to look @ it.

I understand they may be busy etc, last Friday the bike was being investigated and I should expect a call back on Monday/Tuesday. I never received this call and phoned them myself on tues to be told the warranty guy is off today. Sales guy told me a likely replacement/refund may be issued, however this was only his opinion.
This mornings phonecall the warranty guy was in warehouse and they will phone me back this afternoon.

The bike is a 2013 Norco sight. So nearly 2years old. But has a limited lifetime warranty on frame.
I’d rather the refund on the bike if it’s an option.

I ordered my last Norco with Evans and was happy enough with the service. Have a warranty issue with my frame at the minute and they arranged to have bike collected on Monday.

Be interested to hear of your opinion on the sight carbon as there aren’t many owner opinions out there (assuming you do get it that is)

What model have you ordered? I’m currently thinking of ordering the sight carbon 7.2.
