I’m a tiny bit shorter than you and have plenty of room on a medium with a 60mm stem and an inline post, in fact I’m changing to a 50mm stem shortly.

Did you get it professionally laquered or was it a rattle can job?

I’m going to be in the same position soon, best I could come up with is an Andystand or one of these:

Neither lets you drop wheels out easily though :(

I’ve had two now, one from 2002 and one 2012 with the EBB, loved them both but preferred the older one, TBH the EBB is a pain, the best one to get is the version before they introduced the EBB. I’ve run them with 140 and 150mm forks, you should be fine with 130’s.

I can do 25 miles on mine before it gets too uncomfortable, just run a big tyre on the rear with slightly lower than normal PSI and you’ll be fine.

    Old one.

    New one.

Boxxer and SoWhat, would be greatful of a ride report when you’ve had a chance to ride them :-)

I am worried about the discounts later in the season, but I need a bike now, currently torn between the Mega and a Rocket.

Was after a 20ish mile loop that had some fun downhill bits, would definately do Jacobs as a descent :-)

Got mine (for a mate) yesterday. Just looking now and the plastic hose guide that zip ties to the seat tube isn’t there. Is mine missing or is it not Included any more?

Mine was included when I got it yesterday, complete with bleed kit too.

Just tried to order and I’m getting a “Sorry we are not able to ship the items in your basket to United Kingdom. Some items cannot be shipped to some countries due to selling restrictions and regulations.” message.

    Anyone else getting this?

I think they are multi use, they have a 2 week expiry.

Here’s a couple more that I’m not going to use.

Keeping it uncoated for now. I guess you can get away with a jump bike looking grotty and i’m interested to see what happens to it over time. If it starts to look bad (not Michael Jackson bad) then i’ll give it a quick tidy up and clearcoat it.

Pics when it has aged a bit would be good. :-)

Are you going to clearcoat it, or leave it as is?

If you’re with Sky, they have a never miss service, just log in to your account on the sky website.

Stevenk, yes they’re 1 1/8″ steerers, the damping is more basic than the rlt ti revs, but we can tune them for you.

Can their travel be adjusted with spacers, may be interested in getting a tune for them if they are.

Also, what are the dual flow upgrade possibilities for my RLT Ti’s?

LoCo, do you know what’s happening with the 2013 Sektors, will they be available with 1 1/8th steerer and travel reducing spacers, also how does the damper compare to my RTL Ti’s?

What’s the Santa Cruz Crash Replacement scheme then? 50% off or something?

Virtually, it was £275 instead of £499

Fexofenadine Hydrochloride tablets and Nasonex nasal spray, and if those don’t work like now a couple of Sinutab.

Face it OP, it’s your fault!

    stw says so

I know it’s my fault, it’s always my fault

@sillyoldman did you get the frame repaired, or retire it?

as richc says, tolerances. Ive just had to ream the BB of new ally frame as the threads were too shallow to take a BB, probably worn tooling and one of the last to come off the line before they changed cutters. Not “your fault” but a plausible and reasonable explanation given the evidence.

You couldn’t physically get a bigger seatpost in the frame, it’s just not possible. #floggingadeadhorse

27.2 Thomson post in a 27.2 seat tube, how exactly is that under size?

    stevenk4563
    Free Member

    then you’re overtightening your QR

Possibly, but any less tight and it slips.

    stevenk4563
    Free Member

the seatpost is slightly undersize or the seat tube slightly over – the top of the seat tube is beign compressed more than it’s designed too and causing stress at the bottom of the slot leading to a fatigure crack as you can see.

No, seatpost is the correct size, a nice tight fit.

    stevenk4563
    Free Member

    Why?

Constant undoing and tightening of QR. But I’m no expert, do you have a better explanation?

    stevenk4563

    This will fix it.

I was going to use this:

but that looks far more professional :-)
