@quentyn Do you have a link to the official results? I can’t seem to find it.

For any one interested in the Beurer hotplate thing, hot water works just as well, run the tap/shower as hot as you can stand then run the bite under it, it will tingle for a couple of seconds then stop. You get a good few hours itch free.

Either Sugru, which sets solid, or black tack, which is like a much stronger blue tack, photographers use it to hold stuff in place.

What about sedum blankets cut into strips, like you would use on a green roof.

I just asked the guy that served me to price match Amazon, as I’d seen it drop in price that morning.

Just got 2 iPad Air 64Gb for £339 each, Amazon just dropped their price to £489 so asked them to price match, which they did without question. Not bad considering one of the iPad’s I traded in was an iPad 2!

    Thanks OP! 😁

So would you be able to trade in an old iPad now, get the voucher, then wait for the next iPad Air to be released, and use the voucher against that?

Either way it’s a cracking deal, and I’ll be trading in an old 16Gb iPad 2 😁

@joebristol Thanks for the tip about SRAM chains, that’s a possibility.

Also, anyone know if it’s ok to use a standard 10 speed narrow wide chanring with a 12 speed cassette and chain etc?

    That’s very nice!

    I’m eagerly awaiting a raw Aether 7 with a similar spec 😁

Can I ask what pedals they are?

I know it’s too late for the OP, but Paisley Freight seem good for sending bikes and wheels etc. Good prices too compared with the likes of ParcelFarce.

Didn’t even realise the Revelation was on a 35mm chassis now 😄

Ideally I would get a Pike or Lyrik ultimate, but I can’t see any good deals coming up anytime soon with everything that’s going on. So it’s hard to look past the Yari.

Any experiences of Select vs Ultimate on the Pike or Lyrik?

I’m fairly heavy but tend to pick lines rather than smash through stuff. This bike will be used mostly for local, trail centre type stuff, some rooty sections, but on the whole flowy singletrack. Not fussed about lockout, never ever use it on my RCT3 Pike.

I have a full sus that would be taken for welsh trips or anything rocky etc.

Mezzer is out, can’t deal with the hassle of a bad one, and just don’t like the look of it TBH.

    Budget is a factor too.

Really like the look of the Mmmbop and Blue Pig actually. I prefer the braced top tube for a bit of extra standover.

Definitely won’t Be running 650b+ so sounds like the Moxie may be out, I did worry how it would be with regular 650b.

Doesn’t have to be steel, loved my Chameleon which was ally and as stiff as anything.

@joebristol What length forks are you running on the Aether?

I use one, works well for me on tall weeds where you can burn the stem and they don’t seem to come back as fast. Doesn’t work so well for flat stuff like dandelions, I still use weedkiller on those.

Have a look at the HDTVTest channel on YouTube, very knowledgeable guy. From what I gather OLED has a better overall picture, QLED is brighter and has a really good anti glare coating.

    He didn’t kill it.

He gave it a lecture on recycling.

I think killing it would have been the humane option TBH.

Why does it not grow? lack of sun? poor soil?.

Lack of sun in one part of the garden, the soil always seemed too damp as well. Also needs to contend with a trampoline sat on it now, which would make matters even worse. The wood chip we have is perfectly practical for us, but it does tend to walk through the house, and isn’t the nicest thing to look at.

Will probably plant the whole garden with paved or gravel paths through when the kids have outgrown the trampoline etc, but for now we need a low maintenance surface.

Does anyone have a good alternative to artificial grass?

I’ve tried a proper lawn twice (seed and turf), it just doesn’t grow. We currently have most of the garden covered in wood chip but that has disadvantages too. Would love something as simple to look after as fake grass, but not stones as the kids still need to play on it.

If you’re near Reading Barkham Office Furniture would be a good call, have new and used, not sure if you can just turn up, but give them a call and they’re really helpful.

We recently bought a double kayak and had the same kind of issues as you, in the end we went for a plastic one, pros for us were:

    – We use it in rocky Cornish seaside areas
    – Seating position seems far better (proper footrests etc)
    – Our local lake has a no inflatables policy
    – Rigidity

    Cons of course:

    – Storage! A double kayak is huge
    – It’s heavy, getting it onto the roof rack is a two person job, also make sure you get a trolley for getting it to the beach.

Recently did a 480 mile round trip to Cornwall and didn’t notice any difference in fuel economy with it upside down on the roof, overall very glad we bought a plastic one, but it is a bit of a pain to store and move around.

Bought ours from Galaxy Kayaks, they had a deal on when we got it so all in was under £400.

Gravity Dropper may be a little less sensitive to clamping force, or a cheap RSP thing.
