Advise against. Its never wise to leave anywhre on bad terms and just calling in sick will annoy his ex colleagues.

If the new firm really want him they will wait, or comprimise and do some work for them in the evenings and weekends.

Loved the first three episodes. I wasnt season 4s biggest fan but this seems back to business.

Agree with some posters above re altered carbon, season 1 far better than 2, even with the Falcon playing Kovac.

Brill to have decent new sci fi to watch

Its a serious effort. Rode with rab and he was stupid quick.

Did the whw and then the great glen way in 3 days a few years back. It was an amazing experience but i was balancing going slow enough to see stuff and fast enough to get an ok time but at the same time knowing i had a hard day ahead next day.

Would love to go back and do the whw over 3 days and stopping at hotels etc.

I have a one up edc which has optional bacon strips and plyers as part of the tool. Spendy but its always on the bike.

Plyers were perfect for not only valves but gear cable pulling when it slipped.

Current demand for bikes is very high, but depends on how nice.

Up to 2k i would say it will sell now regardless.

Hardtail? 700. Full sus? 1000. New that is. Second hand? I sold a mint genesis tarn 10 for 350 last year but covid tax might mean doubling that!

I think they have handled this incredibly well. Found an issue. Open about it. Will test, replace or refund any with issues. What more could you want? Manufacturing problems can just happen. Its how you respond which makes the difference.

Also as much as an orange frame isnt complex, all those big welds must add a lot of weight……;)

Matt, was the mini the witness? Maybe put a help cry out to locals, although I appreciate that lots of tourists use that road to get to callander from stirling.

can’t be that many minis that shade of green ending in a u number plate?

Re Local authority area. Stirling is bloody massive. Tyndrum is over 50 miles from the city for instance, so that is not even remotely passable for local but according to that, its fine. So i could, im theory, cycle over half the west highland way as mugdock is still stirling.

V interested to hear more about the legislative side of travel. Nicola used the words “not out and abouut”

I was planning a socially distanced ride with a mate from another part of stirling at the weekend. He is not leaving the council area but will be more than 5 miles from home.

So we looked at exactly the same scenario and ended up NOT buying a fire. Bought a 60 quid quad core android tablet.

It didnt need a subscription and is easy to load content.

    Main use -youtube

Son started on a wiggins pau at about 18 months (He is super tall) pedalling a frog 43 from 3 and now on a wiggins chartes 16 at 4.

The wiggins are as light as isla/frog/early rider but dont seem to get mentioned much. I bought the pau for 60 after discounts and worth more if i sold it.

I am exactly same and we set up a working group to look at this, which has fallen away as people are not being fully efficient with time (lol)

Good ideas were -all zoom/teams meetings are in diary for start of hour/finish on hoor or half hour but dont actually start till 5 past and finish at 5 to. This extra time is for chat, people to get a coffee etc.

Also rewarding yourself for finishing on time. Getting to go home from work is a great feeling but you dont get the same buzz working from home as you generally just move to another room! So set an activity, cycle, walk, game of COD on the playstation. Anything fun, anti work will do.

I live in a tier 3 and have seen loads of non essential travel.

Worst was an ex colleague who traveled to Glasgow from Stirling area to visit a dog swimming pool posting about it on facebbok and insta. Thats right, a swimming pool specifically to allow you to swim with your dog. Must be under “animal welfare” i suppose.

I also see troops of school kids all bunched up in groups at lunchtime.

Yet to see anything properly horrific like a pub open/house party in stirling but there was a rave closed down in Clackmannanshire the other week.

I also feared the announcement of a vaccine would make anyone who was half tempted to not follow regs go the whole hog!

Sponsorship and advertising are very different things.

Sponsorship is more about brand recognition and often a company will get things in return.

Say sponsoring man utd. You get lots of exposure but for sure you also get things like corporate days for clients and staff rewards.

You take a client to the man u/chelsea game on full hospitality you would expect business back!

I wild camp mostly in the winter and done down to minus9, live in Central scotland so cold all nights

Uk army bivvy. Neoair mat. Robens 4 season duck down bag. Silk liner and a foil/foam roll which goes under the bivvy. Some nights i undo the bag as so warm.

As others have said eat before bed. Wear thermal undies and socks(you can always take off) and use a tarp when its likely to be damp.

Everything fits on the bike so backpack is for food, beer and cooking kit.

I have demoed one a couple of times when i thought I wanted to buy one. 15 bucks a go and great fun. Maybe do the same?

I have ridden proper tech on one (you just let go of the brakes and it rolled over everything) but i wondered how you would transport it (certainty not on a roof rack!) and the thought of carrying it home if I got a tubeless flat (spare tube weighs the same as a small baby) put me off.

I bought a halfway house Genesis Tarn plus bike which was great fun, cheap and now living with a friend who rides it all the time who loves it too.

See if you can borrow or 24 hour demo one.

In manufacturing I suspect there are people who HAVE to be on site.

Do those people think people working from home are skiving?

Or they are more important that the production staff to make sure they are safe?

These are the challenges your boss will be facing.

If you have a timber framed house like mine (and not block) the best thing i found for wherever you are looking to screw something heavy to the wall, cut out plasterboard section entirely, use nice plyboard and screw to the joists set back a little from the other plasterboard then skim the ply. I have always found plasterboard to crumble and not be great when hanging really heavy things.

I hung a towel radiator doing this that is able to cope with toddlers hanging from it!

Scottish import you mean, just americanised.

It was turnips, guising and hallows eve when I were a kid.

We had the kids line up to go for a walk and spot decorations but its blowing a hoolie outside so let them stay up late in Jammies and iPads.

Genuinely where i live now in stirling but make the house bigger.

I can be at the top of a local hill in 45 minutes with hours of trails from my doorstep.

Its also close to motorways, 2 hours from proper highlands and not too far from Glasgow or Edinburgh if i wanted to get covid/go to bars etc. :)

Firstly its the role which is determined inside or out. Not you which is a very important distinction.

You can still have multiple clients (which makes you think you are outside) but for a particular assignment the role might be inside.

You don’t have to go umbrella. You can be paid PAYE as a contractor, or stay limited but pay employers NI. Speak to your accountant about that one.

Paying ubrella used to be worthwhile but you now cannot claim home to work travel so just as worthwhile going PAYE and saving your 25 quid a week the umb co charges.

IR35 has always been a law, the difference is who determines if you are inside or out. Used to be the contractor, now its the fee payer. Liability for any missing emp ni also falls to the fee payer so most companies are belt and braces approach.

Disclaimer-veteran of ir35 changes in public sector and also doing 90 determinations in the next few weeks so I hope I know what i am doing…
