I have been in recruitment for 10 years. All with the same company. Dont work on commision or to targets, apsco qualified and trained and we have won rakes of awards so we aint all bad….just stay clear of the big nationals like hays and ranstad and you will be ok. They all work on a numbers basis and the poor sods working for them have to send x cvs and get y interviews per week or lose thier jobs. Just not the way to do it….

Nb its against the law not to tell you where your cv is going. Just mention the conduct regulations and shop them to the rec…

Have you thought of setting up as a personal services company as opposed to sole trader?

Large for sure. I am 5.10 and was in that horrible middle ground so took a large but have tiny stem and saddle as far forward as possible. Wouldnt want a medium though as it felt small. Great bike!

I have one for xc duties. Its remarkably competent, rode the west highland way on it. I bought a 2 to get the reba forks and changed all the sram for xt groupset. Very fast but deserves better wheels, too wibbly….

Firefly is on sy fy channel all the time :)

All the 80s action ones like fall guy, airwolf etc. Think they might just have aged too much.

There are (beleive it or not) some seasons of top gear NOT on Dave..

Technic is my nemesis. I most of the major construction sets including the amazing crane 42009. I see it as an investment. The unimog was 100 bucks or so new….now its 300 +.

What sort of riding do you do? Steep/technical or more mellow?

1k gets you not that much these days but likes of boardmans you get a lot of bang for buck.

I have a garmin vivoactive which does the step count (vitality health insurance so get free cinema tickets etc for hitting targets) and i really like it. Doubt the step count is accurate but it does easily show busy days and ensuring i hit 12500 steps 4 times a week has helped with motivation. The fact its a proper garmin as well is brill and my forerunner has sat in a drawer for a few months now…

I have the monarch debonair on the nomad. Mate has the float x on his tranny. Minor differences tbh so whatever is cheaper in my book…

Mine is older but i went for the better shock and sold the groupset/replaced with full xt. Cost about 250 to do but the ease of changing oil at home will pay that back.

The senaors are pito tubes. Like on a plane to measure wind speed. On that it show different air speeds at different levels.

Amazingly i think you need a bigger challenge. I was in the same boat. 320 marathon. Sub 40 10k. But needed something more. Ended up doing an ironman, cycling the great glen way in 7 hours then the west highland way and ggw in 3 days. I think you need to go through such a challenge you know you have pushed youself beyond comfort zones to get the buzz

Mate just bought the onkyo. I was seriously impressed by sound quality and features like internet radio and 2 room sound. Its a bit buttonny(2many) but overall great.

I am surprised your local councils are landfilling still. Ours(stirling) and most ones in scotland are full recycle centres. Everything is seperated and recycled. It means 5 bins at home too.
