That’s where I usually park, it’s probably the best of the two car parks.

I’ve just ordered a set of sintered pads from SS, wish me luck

You will need a reducer headset with a reducer bottom cup.

I have one in my Transition Covert, it’s an Acros AX-22r

Sounds good to me, which is langsett barn car park? The one nearer the roundabouts or langsett inn?

I’d rather set off early (probably more frosty too)! Only ever ridden to the cairn and back so up for extending it. I’m pretty slow uphill though and would hate to slow anyone down..

Mine creaks like mad if I over tighten the seatclamp bolts, had go put up with it all the way round the xc route at Inners once.

Did you make sure you THOROUGHLY shook the bottle when installing the tyres? It’s possible that you haven’t got a good mix of “yellow crystals” in there.

Yep, I have one on each of my 2 bikes.

I prefer the andersen machine personally, it just seems a bit more robust, that being said, I have no complaints on either of them.

As mentioned, bother have required me to file away a bit of material from the spider on my xt m770 cranks.

I have a CCDB on my Covert.

It’s an awesome shock. The amount of adjustment means if you spend time with it you can get it to feel pretty much however you like, if you get one from tftuned it’ll be set up for your frame too (like mine was) which gives you a good starting point.

You’re right though, it is heavy, I was surprised how heavy compared to an old ti coiled dhx5. I also had a Monarch Plus on the Covert for a short whlie, if I was shock shopping again I would probably keep the Monarch as the CCDB is rather overkill unless you are doing a lot of long dh runs.

Very jealous, I wanted an HD but spent the money on a Covert plus Deville instead.

I have some Devilles and they’re amazing. Lighter than the competition, plush as coil, ride high in their travel which is perfect for trail use, plus they’re extremely stiff, I’m over 14st with gear and I’ve never lacked confidence in them.

I had something like that for a while too, was convinced it was something in my sock, turns out it was a bit of light bulb that shattered in my bathroom!

Nice and frosty at Cutgate today :)

This trail rocked just as much today as when it’s bone dry. Had a comedy otb when my wheel went through the ice in a deeper-than-i-suspected gully, fun times. Also it’s bloody hard adjusting to a ht when you’ve been on a squishy for ages.

I’m using a modified shim with my 30.9 i950r in my 31.6mm Transition Covert frame.

I believe the shim is a 27.2 to somethingorother shim that I sanded down so it’s about 0.7mm thick.

Here’s my set of flows on pro 2 hubs on 3 different bikes:

    :D

I’ve had them about 2 years now and they’re still in good nick. Yes they have quite a lot of chips and stuff but any bike that’s ridden will. From a distance you still get the pimped out look fo sho.

I have a set of 2-step air Lyriks that have been working fine, wouldn’t mind trading them for some Revelations though.

I used to have a 2007 Endro SL, I owned it for about 2 years.

You are making a wise decision upgrading the shock, if you are running the stock AFR then it is a pile of turd I’m afraid, anything will be an upgrade.

The Enduro SL is very active, it’s difficult to get rid of pedal bob. I had a DHX5 with a titanium spring, it was extremely plush on rough stuff, but it was difficult to remove bob even when running 25% sag with the pro pedal almost maxed. I would look at something with better platform damping like an RP23 or Monarch Plus, the Monarch felt like an awesome shock when I ran it on my current bike (Covert).

edit: didn’t realise this thread was 6 months old.. duh!

Are they proving any better than the queens in sloppy conditions? I got some ust BC queens for Xmas (2.4 and 2.2) but am putting off installing them.

That looks very odd indeed. I guess the extra 60mm on the front triangle would also add some weight.

Expensive if you ask me, especially when you can get a new Covert with kashima rp23 for cheaper than the cheapest there, which is cleary the best bike in the world.

I don’t have experience with the kit you’re talking about – I think you’ll be lucky to find someone with a Zesty and a Vip’R as they haven’t been out long.

I think the Vip’R would be a better choice though as each one is supposed to be tuned to your frame’s suspension characteristics. Although I assume going this route is the more costly option!

I run a bash and blackspire inner guard on my Sovereign. It has iscg tabs and I have a spare stinger but it’s not necessary, never dropped a chain. If you can’t find the innerguard then a bbg bashguard will work.

If you’re thing to replace them then give the kcnc alloy ones a try.
