I would have a look at Cytronex, based in Winchester and they basicall yconvert “normal” bikes using a front hub motor, controller inder the BB and battery in a water bottle. I tested a Marin Day one single speed and it wa really quite good. They do geared ones too and com with integrated ligyts etc.

MArk who owns it is a nice chap and very passionate about the whole thing…

They are quite dear but the advantage is they look and handle like a normal bike and do not way that much

I wanted to have the switch on the back of the can (my Hid switch is broken), and if i cut the stumpy bit off the original it will be too short once fed into the can to be neat.

If i have to i will, but whilst i was at it thought i’d try and do a neat job, adding the led as well, though if i keep the switch on the lead then the led will be a nicer fit on the back of the can.

The quandry of just getting it done vs doing a nice job….

Thanks, i have the LEds and the drivers and the optic from cutter, its just the asociated bits and bobs that are casuing me issues.

If i have to i can get a heatsink made, but the cable connectors are a source of headache

thanks to woody2000, now have bits of PCB, LEDs, wires and various bits of aluminium in various shapes where my old HiD used to be!

Just struggling to find a source for the power connectors that came on the light or a replacement pair with that neat locking ring built in.

Tried RS, Maplin Farnell Raopid bnut can find nothing suitable, anyone able to post a link to a supplier of something secure and reasonably weather proof?

Also andyone know of a supplier of a 38mm diamter heatsink?

    Cheers

Sam, Any update on the peugeot? Don't suppose you know what spacing the frame is for the rear wheels do you?

the problem is that when they nmade panel vans they never bonded the inner and outer skins around the window frames together, theres just a lump of a masticy type stuff in there, only when the frames are bonded is the shell strong enough to accept seatbelts.

I've sent you a pdf about window fitting on your email in your profile.

mugboo, you may want to look at the way the windows are fitted and the structure of a T4. To have the seatbelts fitted in the C pillar, the inner sking must be bonded to the outer skin to give the structure the rigidity it should have. There;'s lots of debate on the tr4forum on this but VW spoecify that if a panel van is to be converted to have seatbelts it must have this done. Its not a hard job, its a case of cleaning iut the matic that is there, clamping the inner and outer skin toigether and bonding with somethin like sikaflex. Then letting oit dry over night. The added bonus of this is that the windows will sit flusher than if you don't do this.

in my experience the insurance is the problema nd a lot of places will shy away from vans with wimndows in the side??

However, I did a T4 with windows and fitted a middle row of caravelle seats using all the original VW fittings (still available form VW) and insured it with Adrian Flux as a modified vehicle.

well seemsthe fault lay at my door ….sort of….

Get a phone call from my solicitor, saying they had sent some questions out that the buyer had asked to the wrong address, very sorry and they'll send them out today…

so all seems explainable now, the what is being left form, the have you had any rows with your neoghbours stuff, any sewage issues questions still all to be done.

put it down to my wifes casual it'll happen when it happens attitude and refusing to chase the solicitor…lets see if things start moving once those forms are done…

Couple of hours into a SDW ride and the newly fitted front brake pads fall out ! Bit odd, the Shimano split pin must have worked loose. MAnage to cobble a new pad retainer out of spare gear cable and cable ties, complete SDW and think nothing more of it.

Return home to fix brake bike in stand, look at work bench and see shimano split pin sat there in all it glory just waiting to be fitted ….

not too many as has been said, and change them randomly, if they change 9am on a monday then people will know and it will turn into the Aldi thursday morning syndrome.

If you drop things in now and agin it keeps the casual browser interested that they may stumble across a bargain anytime in the week…..

I discovered the mono mini pad issue whilst at Afan a few weeks back. Meant i had to buy two sets of ashim(?) pads for £38 which lasted the duration of the wall. Great.

Sent back to the now legendary"warranty department" and await the outcome……

    but not holding breath

I thought that but they are mono minis so are a one piece machined bit. Guess a wanted in the clasifieds is the way to go….

just avoid Hamax ones, got some to fit woth my childseat and the mountings lasted a month before they broke off (meant i list a laptop for a bit).

Probably fine for on road stuff, but anything rough and they disintegrate.

I read the book cover to cover, and it makes sense to me, the gist is making sure they have enough food & milk during the day, never get stressed by being hungry and learn to put themselves to sleep.

A lot of negativity about GF must be from people who read snippets, as in isolation a lot of her methods seem harsh, but altogether they make perfect sense.

Best tenner i ever spent and my 14month old now sleeps from 7pm to 6am most nights (except when teeth cause issues or the kn@b with the Subaru down my road is on earlies and starts it and its 4" exhaust at 4:50 am to warm the oil for ten minutes gggrrrr)
