Stoke park woods is where I grew up, wouldn’t say there is “downhill” but there are a few nice bits of single track and you can link some tracks up. Various dirt jumps around though they tend to get knocked down etc…

If you go in from Stooke park road there is a little car park. Turn left will start you off.

It is bigger than it first seems and will keep you busy…

Knew it was broken immediately due to the floaty bone motion in my leg. The shouting & swearing at the top of my voice also gave away my pain level to passers by

odd really as when broke my back it was the winding that did me, not really the pain?? Got up and snowboarded to the bottom of the piste where i couldn’t move. Was only later that the pain struck, adrenaline i suppose.

JUst out of interest, why remove the metal work? Mine has been in my back for a year and looks like its staying…just wondered if i should be campainging with my surgeon to take it out??

just using it as my website, used to have a blog hosted on wordpress that i fed into my webpage with a few other static pages. WordPress can do this on its own, and moved to a new host that had installers for all sorts of CMS so thought i would stick with WP

I have had a search about both forums and all posts say the export / import works. Which it does if you have the pics inserted into the posts. However i have galleries in my posts and the export function or the import(?) does not include the photos.

As the photos are not actually in the post, but in a gallery, there does not seem to be a way to do it…

any tips for the undercutting bit, its laminated gloss stuff.

Was thinkung trim the tops of the end panels to get a nicer finish at the bottom and run a thin bead of sealent round the top to tidy it up..

but the undercutting sonds frought with danger…hire a door bottom saw??

OKay thanks for the tips, looking at it all again, some of the units, where the washing machine and oven are, have a solid side that goes all the way to the floor about 10-12mm thick. These are proud of the plinths so will need to be floored up to. Not described very well but as can be seen at the end of the unit in the pic below and below the drawers in the far run..

DO i go tight here or amd i bext cutting the bottoms off carefully and laying the floor under…

my wifes uncle has been banging on about “cardinham being better thatn Wales” for a couple of years and this is the first time i’ve seen a real plan…

Looks good Cardinham is a nice spot ridden there a few times with my Father in law, shame about the car park being so close to the Crem, is a nice spot to leave this world that may be spoiled by a car park…

depends what the base van is and what the interior is…

Is it a camper, what type etc. If it has some interest, and even an original brown interior could be interesting, it may be of more value as it is, rather than trying to get it done “quickly”

As it is quite late for a bay window, it probably will not have much interest for the “enthusiasts” unless it is a double door microbus with a factory sunroof…

try Volkszone or earlybay for opinions, and in my opinion, if you do get it fixed, get it done “properly” otherwise it will not be worth anything

Had a homebuyer survey on a 1915 house that said it was damp. Used a local “old boy” damp man who to his credit came round and had a llokk. He reported that the damp in the back interior wall was not rising or anything to worry about but more likely where a previous back door had leaked and the water had soaked into th plaster.

He then went round and suggested a few more air bricks to vent the underfloor and while we were at it to rake the cavities. Total cost was about £200 including the survey. No issues with damp and no hacking off of 2m of plaster and injecting of DPC…

I think common sense with these things, assess the house, does the roof look okay is it obviously leaning, large long cracks etc…

purchase the survey that will give you greatest peace of mind on that particular property…

the bed on rails in the pic above is a reimo variotech, same as i have, it slides, although they are heavy so can be a bit fiddly to move, they also come out quite easily so you can use the van for lots of bikes.

Not sure if reimo still make the same one as they now have a variotech 333 which is much bigger and has buuilt in belts. Again not cheap though. Rib are a similar thing and do a sliding one but it does not slide as far.

If you look for a converted van look for ones called “reimo” conversions as they usually have variotechs. Another option is to look at Westfalias, they usually have belts and sliding buts but are left hand drive and can fetch a premium…http://www.campervans4u.com/stocklist.html

I have a 2000 vw t4 high top (reimo) with a variotech crash tested bed on rails.

There are a lot of bed seats around with belts but not many have been pull tested or are certified. having said that the rib/reimo seats have to be fitted correctly to do their job, some stories of badly fitted rib seats that effectovely make them expensive death traps. A crash tested bed/ seat will cost around £2k fitted so brace yourself.

Other options with the size you need would be a mwb sprinter/movano/lt. Action van http://www.actionvan.biz do nice conversions with two double beds and can fit the unwin seat rail system as well with built in belts and m1 certification. All his vans are custom built so you can choose what goes where.

    from his website…

    Retrospective Application
Contrary to popular belief, in Britain it is not illegal to carry out building works and changes of use without applying for planning permission before-hand. It is acceptable to instead make a retrospective application. Of course it is possible that this application could be refused. This is the approach favoured by Tesco supermarkets who rely on a mutually agreeable financial arrangement to ensure approval. It is also the approach that has most successfully been used by both low impact dwellers and many more conventional farmers although these people have generally had to rely on paperwork and logic to ensure eventual permission.

In addition our planning departments do not have a general remit to enforce against unpermitted development, only to process applications and follow up on complaints. This is an significant retention of liberty and common sense. If I get a piece of land and build a monstrous palace which I use as a base for having excessively loud parties. My neighbours will probably complain to the council who will demand a retrospective application which they’d refuse and then serve an enforcement order for me to demolish the building. On the other hand, if I build a modest and discreet house on a piece of land somewhere and all my neighbours have no problem with what I am doing, the need to make a planning application will not arise. In this case, after 10 years the building and change of use will be eligible for a certificate of lawful use, meaning a planning application is not needed. If there is not a change of use, lawful use is granted after 4 years.

Many low impact living projects have now be granted temporary or permanent permission through the retrospective applications usually followed by appeals. Such cases are arguable through agricultural technicalities as well as appeals to general ecological and social commitments.

bit of a swing at Tesco….but retrospective seems the order of the day…
