The red isn’t really a red though is it. Contemplating taking my recently acquired £30 old rigid commuter with semi slicks just to make it slightly interesting.

What is the reason for the change in shifts?

Was there any consultation at all?

Has any other employee had their shifts changed?

They have effectively changed the ‘Terms and Conditions of employment,’ so if they haven’t followed the correct procedure it would constitute Constructive Dismissal if she were to leave as a result (assuming 1year service.)

The employer legally has to issue the ‘Terms and conditions of employment’ within the first 4 weeks, normally as a written contract.

Isn’t Dan Evans a national hill climb champion, hence his frankly silly kom time?

I’ve tried it since I first started riding and it took us about 5 hours to get round. Would do a tad better than that now!

Did everyone else miss that post from Mr 6pot ^^^^^ the potential buyer?!

Get a bank transfer if he’s willing, no worries about chargebacks then.

Thinking about selling my 2012 Cube ltd sl 29 in 19″ if that would be of interest….. Comes in at around 11.7kg if I remember correctly.

    Thegeneralist – are you mental?!

Llandegla is fun and fast, but not very technical.

Pines is just an hour of peddling with no up, no down, no reward.

    I’d got a 2012 Ltd sl29, love it.

Can’t help but dream about how much faster I’d be on the Reaction gtc sl which is 5lb lighter though……

Maybe she thought that as you clearly couldn’t afford a whole turnip, then the price of the house was irrelevant

Contract says 44, but expected to have an Admin day’ of 4 hours on top of that.

Reality? The norm tends to be about 55, just had my first Saturday off, and week off, since July

    That’s good news.

    The Cove is stunning though!

Why on earth would you sell the Cove?

Built my burgundy with mostly functional parts (Sektors, deore, superstar etc) and love it. Best colour as far as I’m concerned.

Bled a set of Elixir 5’s last night (tore my deore hose in a crash and riding today, so fitted the avids.) Took me MINUTES and worked perfectly first time.

I expect it to be one of those ‘once in a lifetime’ events.

Iirc you can use any tyre wider than your rim. I’ve used that principle on both 26″ & 29″ with no problems.

    Clearly Penmachno.

Honesty box with the map as you head up to the car park gives it away.

07 came with 140mm up front and a straight 1 1/8th head tube and came in 15″ and 17″ but no 16″. You got a pic of the bike? I think I’ve still got the brochure somewhere which gave max travel….. I’ll have a look

Marcus7 – mentioned that to her, response was ‘I love a good Nandos.’

Chester, with a stop off at Cheshire Oaks on the way home, is the winner.

    cheers folks

Twycross she doesn’t like the look of. I like the look of The Deep, but she says she’s ‘not a fan of fish.’

Looks like Chester could be a winner.

    Cougar – shocking. Just……. Shocking.

I used to live up the Orme, then moved to Notts. Bloody miss waking up to those views!

After 13 years of smoking, I went cold turkey and gave up overnight a couple of years ago.

It is nicotine you’re craving, not food. Keep that in mind and it makes self control easier – that is why there is the danger of eating too much, as you aren’t actually hungry you aren’t satisfied!

My motivation? What I’d save in a year would get me a holiday AND a new bike. A no brainer really.

    Good luck!

Isn’t the effect just like having a smaller rotor on the back, thus meaning it will be fine?

My girlfriend has always found my obsession (for want of a better word,) with bikes ‘cute.’ She came on a ride with me for the first time this week and loved it, even after she crashed into a tree.

Most people think I’m just sad.

Just keep driving a little bit further, til you get to coed-y-brenin? Was snow free and looking glorious last weekend. (I wasn’t there, I was working and jealous, but have seen the pics.)

I have a cb17, bit rusty but everything works as it should after about 5 years.

Mount gay, Havana Especial, Appleton’s xo are all good and keenly priced.

If you’re looking at spending a bit more, Ron Zacapa 23yr is just in a different league. I’ve made a bottle last 6 months so far but at £50 a bottle, I’ll make it last a bit longer!

Follow a few relevant people on twitter – Llandegla has deep snow, Llanberis pass A road is closed and under snow, coed-y-brenin centre has no snow but may be some higher up. I think there are a few other road closures dotted around, so doesn’t look promising at the moment.

Marin apparently not too bad but heard that Penmachno has snow too deep to bother with.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that Raidon. Air with hydraulic damping, would much prefer that than a budget Rockshox offering. Great value at that price.

To be honest I moved from Nottingham to mid west Wales, It really is a cracking place but not to live (Very expensive amongst other things) which is why we moved back to Nottingham,

I think I’d prefer a happy medium, Sister lives in Hereford, I love it round that part of the country.

True, I’m much better off financially now, but work/life/riding balance has suffered greatly for it.

Not particularly pro-English out in the sticks in the West, I’m guessing that had something to do with it?

Much prefer the girlfriend’s S3 to my new Nokia 820, this windows nonsense just isn’t particularly good, very limited aps so just feels boring. No Strava, which is just nonsense in this day and age.

Zero contracted hours means nothing. If someone works 30 hours p/w for 2 years then their normal working hours are 30 p/w. Very risky on the company’s part playing it out like that. I think this may step into sexual discrimination territory, as the are effectively discriminating against her for being pregnant.

I would recommend getting some professional advice sooner rather than later.

The Marin was my local trail for nearly 4 years and its only now that I really appreciate it as my nearest trail centre is Sherwood pines which is abysmal. Give the Marin a try, but you need to put some pace into the climbs and don’t coast on the descents.

I wear one whenever I cook, I’m just messy. I bought the girlfriend a nice apron to wear for baking. She doesn’t cook a lot as it is usually awful and I gave up pretending to enjoy eating it a long time ago.

My cube 29er ht came with a pair of them. Having my first outing at Penmachno in the wet left me in agony and fearing for my life. Incredibly fast, partly down to the cheapo hard compound which had no grip. Swapped for a pair of Ardents and not looked back

I’m definitely interested. I tend to be off every Tuesday and either Wednesday or Thursday, based in Nottingham but willing to travel.

EDIT: not after a date, even if I’d did sound a little like that….

I find the soles too flexible for m520s over decent distances and can get more power down using stiffer soled shoes.

I have both versions of the shoes, find them great on flats
