If you’re going to be drinking it within a couple of days then best stored in the fridge.

If you search on the internet for vac-u-vin. That pumps the air out of the bottle, creating a vacuum, which keeps the wine fresher for longer.

Might be my imagination but my 2010 teams feel much more comfortable on the rough stuff than my 2012 RLs. Ridden on the same bike in exactly the same guise.

I’d happily pay £200 for n.o.s on the teams

Used to be £5 for a yellow and £10 for a red when I was a kid. As I grew up in Walsall and most of our matches were in the least desirable parts of the West Midlands, cards/fines were fairly regular.

I got a broadband only deal at £22 p/m with the first 2 months free. After the first month they wrote to me to inform me that the price was rising to £25 just in time for my first payment to go out.

Not a lot I can do as I have no desire for line rental and phone. Speeds are still brilliant compared to the shambles that is Sky broadband.

Building my Evo up with 120mm Rebas, looks plenty slack enough. I believe Evo2 is same geo, just lighter tubing and revised seattube for droppers.

The guy I sold mine to said he’s always regretted selling his hence buying another. Never got to ride it though as a large is 21″ seattube so it was nearly as big as me.

You break down approx one unit per hour but doesn’t start until an hour after you finish your last drink.

An ex-employee of mine got banned for drink driving. When he attended a course to reduce his ban by six months every single other person on the course had been caught over the limit the morning after a night out.

Just an up to date mmmbop aren’t they? Luckily the missus caught me checking them out so I got a telling off and won’t be getting one

I would guess wheel bearings – You mentioned on the other thread but did you check it out?

‘You want ANOTHER handbag for Christmas, love of my life? Handbags of which you have plenty yet can only use one of at a time?

    N+1 indeed.’

She cannot possibly argue with that.

    Hate you, yes. Argue, no.

What’s an extra £5k when you’ve given up the rest of your life anyway.

Is it Christmas yet? Bah Humbug!

Stagg Chilli. Some Saturdays I work 9am – 2am so like to keep a can in the cupboard for when I get in. Has to be the hot one with a few slices of bread.

I am on a train, the missus is in Morrisons. She text a little while ago asking what I fancy for dinner. Sausage & mash was the easy answer. No reply needed, but what I got was…

“Good choice. I was just thinking about putting a sausage in my face!’

Can’t make up their bloody mind on the price though. Second time it’s dropped in price since I bought one for £17 2 weeks ago.

The sheer stupidity of this thread is astounding.

I could go on, but the words would just be too confusing without pictures.

Whilst I was looking for a new tv recently, I read a bit on the reasonable life span and what stuck in my mind was that for a half decent tv you would be looking at 5 years.

My 6 year old Samsung series 6 has pretty much given up after several house moves and been replaced by an LG which was £500 cheaper and 5kg lighter.

No offence, but the lack of grammar in the first paragraph put me off reading any further. I’m sure they will feel the same.

There are 2 types, maxle and maxle lite.

The newer (lite) ones are hollow and are adjusted with a hex bolt on the lever end, whereas the older ones had a nut on the other end.

CM is the second most confidence inspiring tyre I’ve tried after a ST Minion, but without the soul destroying drag that you get with the Minion. It did replace a Fat Albert, easily the most terrifying tyre I have ever used, so may have skewed my opinion a tad.

I have no issues with people having a little skive as long as it doesn’t impact on guest service. When I was the age/position of the 27 employees I’m in charge of I would get every task done as well/quickly as possible to ensure maximum chilling out time.

    Bloody youth of today

I have a stubborn crown race I needed removing earlier this week so I could send my forks back (to the online retailer,) under warranty. Popped into my lbs to see if they could do it the following day, explained the situation, they did it there and then. Free of charge. Because of service like that, I try to use them as often as financially viable.

A previous lbs (in Bangor,) were great as well, always sorted me out. Took a bike in to get some bearings fitted and somehow walked out the shop having spent £1300 on a new bike. Not sure how that happened….

You’re effectively asking them to swap a knackered pair of trainers for a new pair, with no evidence whatsoever as to where/when they were purchased?

They probably get people trying it on like that all the time

Because its very rarely what can be classed as haggling, mostly its people taking the piss?!

The only time we tell our customers the price of something is when they order a bitter shandy – as the only one we do is imported from USA and is £5.10 a pint it is a tad pricey for a shandy. No-one has taken offence as yet.

Find a child (preferably one you know) and get them to jump up and down on their car. When they kick off, suggest that maybe they should stop being so precious.

If it were my bike I probably would have trampled on the child.

Just stopped off for a pint on my way home to Nottingham from Cannock.

There is no comparison, Cannock is a different league. Absolutely stunning ride today, never seen it so green. Overgrown in places so it felt almost new, going into sections pretty much blind. Loved it.

In 3 months I will be debt free for the first time in 12 years (never had a mortgage.)

Never a student either so when I admitted to my father I’d hit £25k of debt, I finally started doing something about it.

Mate of mine worked at Crc for a while, when you get logical packaging is usually when the machine has broken down and they’re packaging by hand.

Made the mistake of getting my new gloves delivered to my house instead of work this week. Of course the box won’t fit through the letterbox!

I’ve not been in there for ages, but I remember a selection of random old frames. I’ll leave it there though, thread isn’t about them….

As far as my old local Halfords goes, nice to hear that they’ve improved. The guys were always eager to help, even if the advice was very much hit and miss.

Nowhere local will have the vast choice of West End though, no matter how useless they are.

Pretty good to be honest, includes a cycle to work scheme, cash back and discounts for a whole load of places.

I remember having a bad one a few years back. I was in bed for a week, everything I ate/drank quickly projectiles out one way or another.

I did at one point run out of bog roll and had to brave the 2 minute walk to the shop. I made it about half way before the inevitable happened. I did have a little cry.

    Good luck

Surely you would have to take 5 pork pies and a pot of mustard/pickle? The extra space would be used for a Cumberland Scotch egg.

Thanks all. I’m off to the lbs shortly to see if they have a spare seatpost I can borrow to test it out tonight.

If it is too big, anyone fancy swapping my large carbon for a medium?

I’ve got 740mm low rise Atherton Pro bars and a 50mm Spank stem with no rise. The ett is 6mm longer than my HT which has a 70mm stem so that definitely isn’t an issue.

But I guess that despite the seat tube being 2″ bigger, it won’t sit 2″ higher as the 19″ HT has bigger wheels.

I bought an 18″ Dialled Alpine frame, didn’t get on with it, sold it and planned to just swap everything over to this. I did realise that as I’ll be in Nottingham for a while yet, a long travel hardtail wasn’t really necessary.

We don’t sell real ales, just Sierra Nevada pale ale on keg.

    At £4.99 a pint.

She got a laptop? Get on it, on stw and you’ll find all the ads are for stuff she’s been looking at.

Or it could work the other way round – coming up to her last birthday, pop onto stw on MY laptop, thinking ‘What the f*** is going on with all these ads for ruby jewellery?!’

This year I’m taking her to Ireland for a couple of days. I get a holiday, she gets a present, win win.
