Thanks for the input folks. I have been readin reviews all day about the bone shattering rides these bikes give, but they’re huge fun and ride really well down through the technical stuff.
Also looking at the Meta 553, as the all day, more comfortable alternative.
Yeah, the social side of football always appeals. I’ll see what this summer brings with the bike, might turn out I try to take on the world and stuff everything else! :D
I’m not sure what I want from cycling. I get huge enjoyment from it, more than I ever got from football. Only photography beats it for that fuzzy feeling.
Competing might be the way to go, but that will involve a fair bit of travelling for me, and competition seems pretty thin on the ground here in Northern Ireland for XC racing. I don’t have a DH rig, can’t do ‘getting air’, and i’m slow, so that rules that out ;)
I have a hardtail, been riding for a year now. I love the connected feeling a hardtail gives. I rode a Trek Remedy 7 last night, and whilst I think it’s a stunning bike, It would take a bit of getting used too!
Northern Ireland is a nightmare, torrential rain for the last few days, and that’s been in between normal rainfall. Sun is out now, but rain is forecast for the next few days.
It’s the work of the devil, or the Gods, depending on how you look at it. I bought a £370 bike, and have spent almost £1000 completely changing it, upgrading it.
Mostly on finance too, through CRC, so, er, not a great financial move that one.
I got engaged at the end of March. I took her to pick the ring herself, and left the occasion up to me. She didn’t care about the cost of the ring, even though it was quite expensive! I paid a 40% deposit and pay the rest interest free over 24 months which I think is a fair deal.
I took her to the first place we kissed, and she said yes ;)
