Sounds wrong to me. I just do commercial property work but the searches are practically the same. Once you’ve paid for the searches it’s generally 3 weeks tops. There are a very few local authorities who are slow (e.g. Bridgend if you are in Wales)but most searches are back within 1-10 days. I would ask whether Santander really required searches. As a favour to a commercial client we did a transfer following a friendly divorce. Ex got the property and he pays the mortgage. I’ve just checked my file – we did not need to do any.

I think everyone found it heavy going, most people seemed to be about 15 minutes down on normal time.

I am glad Crazy Legs said that as I was only just under 5 hours whereas I was thinking I should be around 4.40. Mind you ploughing into the back of parked car just after dibbing at Whernside did not help. The car owner offered a gel and a kindly Skipton rider let me ride on his wheel until I felt okay which was just before Horton. Helmet is a w/o but everything else seems fine. I think I may be replacing the forks though. I can’t believe they are not damaged.

[ Hoping to cut out the long drag climb ]

I hope not Ferrals. Some of us like that sort of stuff.

My house smells of tub glue and I’ve booked my accommodation for the 3PCX so at least there is some preparation going on. I should be doing some intervals by now in evening sunshine if it ever stops raining.

It’s all about the context when it comes to flags.

Go to Belgium as the beer is better and it’s not a long drive. As I am not doing it this year (3 years in a row doing the full sportive distance)try http://www.grotegoesting.be/ where we stayed the last two years. One of the owners is involved with Gent-Wevelgem so cyclists are very welcome. Motorway connections are good for Roubaix or going south to watch on Sunday. Just make sure you park within the Sports Complex at the Velodrome and not on the adjoining side streets as you will be towed. You won’t see the signs early in the morning.

According to Parc Bryn Bach there’s also an Antiques and Collectors Fair which should make parking “interesting”. I don’t remember much parking when the total entry for the senior and vets race was about 70. My memory of racing at Bryn Bach was rain, mud and a large drainage culvert. And some scalpings to ruin any nice tubs.
